The Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society proudly announces the winners of the 2017 Philadelphia Classical Guitar Competition featuring the Peter Segal Prize for the first place Adult Division winner.  Winners received merchandise prizes generously supplied by D'Addario, Savarez, and Strings by Mail with monetary awards for first through third place winners as well.

Founded in 1979, the esteemed Metzler Violin Shop will host a three-day exhibition of exquisite contemporary instruments and bows crafted by leading luthiers from across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil, starting Friday morning, April 7th, 2017 at 10 a.m.

One of the top classical guitarists performing today is coming to Norfolk as part of the Virginia Arts Festival. A prolific recording artist and veteran of performances around the world, David Russell has won a Grammy Award and great praise from music critics.

The New England Guitar Society's International Performer concert series will continue with guitarist Dimitris Dekavallas on Saturday, March 11that 8 pm. Born in Athens/Greece, Dimitris discovered the guitar at the age of five. After receiving numerous scholarships, he studied at the Royal Academy of Music with such luminaries as John Williams and David Russell. He then launched an international career, which includes concerts on four continents, CD releases and awards at competitions. His Milford program on March 11th will include virtuoso guitar favorites by Mertz, Giuliani, Piazzolla, Villa-Lobos and more.

On Today, February 3, undergraduate and graduate students from the Guitar program at the University of Texas at San Antonio will participate in a master class with famed classical guitarist David Russell from Galicia, Spain.

Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. Each production will receive four performances during the Festival. The Russian Arts Theater and Studio (TRATS) continues its 2016/17 season with Crime and Punishment, a newly adapted play by Di Zhu based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's magnum opus.
