Read all about it! The Front Page, Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's classic 1928 comedy set in the world of the Chicago newspaper business, will have its official opening performance tonight at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 W. 44th Street). Along with the slew of expected boldfaced names from the worlds of theater, film, television, and media, the opening night audience will also include the top thirty theater critics from around the country.

Atlantic Theater Company has announced that the world premiere production of George Brant's play with music, Marie and Rosetta, starring Kecia Lewis (Mother Courage, Once on This Island) and Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot, Hedwig and the Angry Inch) and directed by Atlantic Artistic Director Neil Pepe, has been extended an additional two weeks due to popular demand following opening last night to positive reviews.

According to vineyardartsproject.org, director and playwright James Lapine (Into The Woods), composer Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) and lyricist Michael Korie (Grey Gardens) return with their latest musical, FLYING OVER SUNSET, which explores three characters, Claire Booth Luce, Aldous Huxley, Cary Grant, and their respective journeys with fame and LSD in 1950s Los Angeles.

Directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien, the show will play a limited engagement through Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 W. 44th Street). Today in 2007, LoveMusik opened at the Biltmore Theatre (now the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre), where it ran for 60 performances. LoveMusik is a musical written by Alfred Uhry, using a selection of music by Kurt Weill. The story explores the romance and lives of Kurt Weill and Lotte Lenya, based on Speak Low (When You Speak Love): The Letters of Kurt Weill and Lotte Lenya. The show was directed by Harold Prince, with musical staging by Patricia Birch and starred Michael Cerveris as Kurt Weill, Donna Murphy as Lotte Lenya, David Pittu as Bertolt Brecht and John Scherer as George Davis.
BWW Review: THE MYSTERY OF LOVE & SEX Captivates at the Taper

It is refreshing to watch family dysfunction where family members, striving to make thing better, do honestly care about one another. In Bathsheba Doran's The Mystery of Love & Sex we are presented with quite a divergent platter at first glance, but as time progresses and with so many transformations in plot and character, reconnection never ceases to be a top priority. Helmed by Robert Egan, the play, though taking a tad too long to reach its resolutions, boasts some witty dialogue and substantially engrossing scenes by playwright Doran and an outstanding cast of five at the Mark Taper Forum through March 20.
