A human ball of silver glitter hanging from a cord is lowered above what looks like a bungalow-sized muffin top.  (It's supposed to represent a turtle shell.)  Before the glitter ball makes its landing the cover is removed to reveal what looks like a tribe of humanish amphibians bouncing on trampolines and twirling on the muffin/turtle's frame.  Shortly after, a sleazy-looking clown in a tropical shirt tosses a condom to a woman in the front row and says, 'Call me!'  Yes, dear readers, Cirque du Soleil is back in town.

Atlantic Theater Company just presented their annual Spring Gala Songs in Celebration of a New Day on last night, February 25, 2013 at 583 Park Avenue. Songs in Celebration of a New Day was an evening of original music celebrating the future of Atlantic Theater Company, newly reinvigorated in its renovated home at the Linda Gross Theater. The Gala featured special appearances by Michael Cerveris, Christine Lahti, Jan Maxwell, Tonya Pinkins and David Pittu, toasting the $8.3M renovation of Atlantic's mainstage theater and the bright future of the award-winning off-Broadway theater company. Songs in Celebration of a New Day will be an evening of original music celebrating the future of Atlantic Theater Company, newly reinvigorated in its renovated home at the Linda Gross Theater.

Chita Rivera, Stephen Sondheim and Harold Prince will share the 2013 Jerome Robbins Award on February 18, 2013 at the Baryshnikov Arts Center. A full evening of performances, hosted by Frank Rich and featuring stars from Broadway as well as dancers from New York City Ballet will be included in the presentation.

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel has launched the 2013 spring season at the legendary Café Carlyle. The spring season commences with Tony Award Nominees Howard McGillin and Rebecca Luker who will bring their program entitled 'Broadway Romance' to the Carlyle through January 26. Following up on BWW's exclusive scoop on a presentation of the show, Michael Riedel reports this morning that the show has indeed been picked up by Tom Viertel and Richard Frankel who are aiming to bring the show to New York next fall.

BroadwayWorld.com has learned that a new presentation of the production is taking place today, to hopefully line up additional investors for the show. In the cast of today's reading are Josh Grisetti, LaChanze, Emily Skinner, Sierra Boggess, Shuler Henlsey, Richard Kind, Amanda Kloots-Larsen, Caroline O'Connor and David Pittu.

Janet Brenner and Michael Coco will present Fiction in Photographs, a new musical featuring the music and lyrics of Dan Mills, conceived and directed by Randy Redd, and featuring the photography of Sasha Israel. Three free presentations, open to the public, will be offered at the New World Stages/Stage 1 (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues) on Wednesday October 10th (4pm), Thursday October 11th (7pm) and Friday October 12th (7pm).
