Allen D. Cornell, Riverside Theatre's Producing Artistic Director, and Ken Clifton, Riverside's Musical Director, have teamed up to create a special theatrical event showcasing some of the most beloved music by Broadway legend, Richard Rodgers. My Romance: The Work of Richard Rodgers takes place on the Stark Stage on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

TheaterWork's production of the musical "Next to Normal" led the nominations for the 27th annual Connecticut Critics Circle Awards event to be held Monday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart University's Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts in Fairfield.

I first heard tenor Roberto Alagna in the days when he was being touted as “The 4th Tenor”—chutzpah that only a record company could come up with, placing him in the hallowed company of Carreras, Domingo and Pavarotti. Fast forward more than 20 years and he's still here. As Cyrano, the soldier-poet with a nose that embarrasses him, in Francesca Zambello's attractive production, Alagna was wonderful—perhaps the best I've ever seen him.

Florida Grand Opera (FGO) is accepting applications for its second annual Youth Artist Learning Academy (YALA) Summer Vocal Institute. Specifically designed for students in grades 7-12, YALA gears its program toward young aspiring opera singers, those who want to learn about backstage craft, as well as people who simply seek to develop an appreciation of the art form. YALA's staff of seasoned industry professionals will provide an indelible, hands-on experience in the world of opera.

Mulay Initiatives presents The Love Curriculum, an entertaining evening of song and dance exploring our universal journey in the pursuit of love, written and performed by Brian Mulay (Yank, A New Musical).  

The Metropolitan Opera's 2017-18 season will feature 220 performances of 26 works, including two Met premieres, one co-commissioned by the company and one an older masterpiece having its first Met performances; a variety of repertory favorites, three in new productions; and performances of Verdi's towering concert work for soloists, orchestra, and chorus, the Requiem. Under the leadership of General Manager Bernard Foccroulle, the 69th season of the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence will present an exceptional collection of artists from around the globe in five major opera productions and 16 recital, chamber music and orchestral concerts from July 3 through 22, plus more than 60 events from the Academie du Festival d'Aix.

At 7:30 p.m. in Princeton University's Richardson Auditorium, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra will present Handel's Messiah. At 8 p.m. in McCarter's Berlind Theatre, pianist Stewart Goodyear will perform his solo arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite.

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents an evening with Handel's Messiah. This iconic, centuries-old oratorio has come to be known as Handel's masterpiece.

Members of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra perform Handel's Messiah with the Montclair State University Singers and a quartet of vocal soloists December 16 and 18 in Princeton and Newark, respectively. George Manahan, the NJSO's interim Music Director from 1983–85, returns to conduct Handel's masterwork—a Christmastime tradition in concert halls across the world. Soprano Patricia Schuman, mezzo-soprano Mary Phillips, tenor Ryan MacPherson and bass-baritone David Pittsinger join the Orchestra and choir.

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra will welcome back popular guest conductor Juanjo Mena for its performances of Beethoven's Missa Solemnis today (7:30pm) and Saturday (8pm), Oct. 27 & 29 at the historic Taft Theatre.
