NY Philharmonic's 'Sondheim: The Birthday Concert' will air as part of PBS' 'Great Performances' series at 9:30pm on November 24. The concert took place March 15-16 at Avery Fisher Hall.

Jason Alexander, artistic director of Reprise Theatre Company, will star in 'They're Playing Our Song,' September 28 to October 10 (press opening September 29) at UCLA's Freud Playhouse, to open the company's 2010-2011 season. 92nd Street Y announced today that Jordan Roth, President of Jujamcyn Theaters, will return with his multi-evening 'Broadway Talks' conversation series at 92nd Street Y in fall 2010, following a popular and successful first season. Each evening will feature an illuminating discussion between Mr. Roth and a current Broadway star. Fall guests include Billie Joe Armstrong & Michael Mayer (Creators of Broadway's American Idiot), David Hyde Pierce (La Bête) and the legendary Elaine Stritch (A Little Night Music).

Featuring one of the last scores by the lengendary Tony Award-winning songwriting team of Kander and Ebb (CHICAGO, CABARET, ZORBA) and a book by multiple Tony Award-winner Rupert Holmes (DROOD; SAY GOODNIGHT, GRACIE), CURTAINS is set backstage in 1959 at Boston's Colonial Theatre during the pre-Broadway tryout of a new musical. When the hapless leading lady is murdered on opening night during the curtain call, Lt. Frank Cioffi is called in to investigate and the entire company and creative team become suspects. But the lure of the theater proves irresistible and after an unexpected romance blooms for the stage-struck detective, he finds himself just as drawn toward making the show a hit as he is in solving the murder. What unfolds becomes not only a 'whodunit' murder mystery, but also a fun, witty and tuneful musical within a musical, sure to delight audiences of all ages.
