East West Players has done it again with their spectacular production of The Who's Tommy. With an incredible band, vibrant vocals from the entire cast and stunning visuals, this 'little' theatre easily matches and betters many larger house productions.

East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theatre of color in the country and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, continues its 50th Anniversary Season, Golden, with 'The Who's TOMMY,' Music and Lyrics by Pete Townshend, Book by Pete Townshend and Des McAnuff, Additional Music and Lyrics by John Entwistle and Keith Moon. 'The Who's TOMMY' was originally produced on Broadway by Pace Theatrical Group and Dodger Productions with Kardana Productions. The production is directed by Snehal Desai (EWP's 'A Nice Indian Boy') with musical direction by Marc Macalintal (EWP's 'Chess,' 'Krunk Fu Battle Battle') and choreography by Janet Roston (Ovation Award and NAACP Award winner for 'The Color Purple' at Celebration Theatre). Generous support for this production is provided by the S. Mark Taper Foundation Endowment for East West Players.

8th Annual Mimi Awards Set for 11/16 at Lincoln Center Theater!

The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust today announced that the Eighth Annual 'Mimi' Awards will be presented on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Lincoln Center Theater.  The 'Mimi' Awards are presented biennially to honor the accomplishments of some of the most gifted up-and-coming American playwrights.

Today in 2006, Tarzan opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, where it ran for 486 performances. Tarzan: The Musical is based on the Disney film of the same name and the story by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The songs are written by Phil Collins and David Zippel, with a book by David Henry Hwang. The production was nominated for a Tony award for Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Natasha Katz). The cast Featured Josh Strickland, Jennifer Gambatese, Shuler Hensley, Merle Dandridge and Chester Gregory.

Written by Pulitzer finalist Amy Herzog (4,000 Miles), and directed by Chance Theater Founding Artistic Director Oanh Nguyen. After The Revolution will preview from April 10 through April 17, regular performances will begin April 18 and continue through May 10 on the Main Stage at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center.
