Regional Premiere of Disney's ON THE RECORD to Play WPPAC, 6/20-29

Disney's On the Record, a musical revue and theatrical celebration of 75 years of Disney music, will have its tri-state regional premiere on the White Plains Performing Arts Center's main stage June 20 - 29. This show-stopping musical from Disney is set in a contemporary recording studio that sparkles with 64 of the most beloved songs ever written, from some of the most popular films ever made over the past 75 years.

Breaking News: Paige Faure and Nancy Opel Set to Join Broadway's CINDERELLA in June!

Producers of the Tony Award winning musical Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, Robyn Goodman, Jill Furman and Stephen Kocis, have announced that Paige Faure, now appearing in Bullets Over Broadway, will be Broadway's new CINDERELLA starting June 13. Faure will also lead the national tour of the hit, Tony Award-winning musical when it begins performances October 10 in Providence, RI. Ms. Faure assumes the role following the 4-month limited engagement of Carly Rae Jepsen, which concludes June 8.

Now in its second year on Broadway, CINDERELLA continues to play to large and enthusiastic audiences at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway). The show currently stars Grammy-nominated recording artist Carly Rae Jepsen as Cinderella, Joe Carroll as Prince Topher, Fran Drescher as Madame, Victoria Clark as the Fairy Godmother, Ann Harada as Charlotte, Stephanie Gibson as stepsister Gabrielle, Peter Barlet as Sebastian, Todd Buonopane as the rebel Jean-Michel and Phumzile Sojola as Lord Pinkleton. Tim Blake Nelson to Join David Chase in Honoring Dominic Chianese with Laurette Taylor Award, 5/19

Tim Blake Nelson, whose 2009 Off-Broadway production of EYE OF GOD was produced by THEATRE EAST, joins David Chase, creator of The Sopranos and Graham Russell of Air Supply in honoring Dominic Chianese (The Sopranos) with the LAURETTE TAYLOR AWARD on Monday, May 19, at Trinity Place, 115 B'way (between B'way and Trinity Place) in lower Manhattan. The benefit begins with a VIP Cocktail Hour at 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm begins the dinner, program and music. Musical guests also include acoustic duo OF EDEN, in their first New York area performance and a sneak preview of songs from the upcoming family musical TREASURE ISLAND, performed by Josh Freilich Musical Friends, featuring Kimberly Hirst, Rebecca Kuznick, Brandon Beynon, Michael Kushner, Natasha Edwards, Sammi Kramer and Eric Stockton (SOUL DOCTOR) on guitar.

Fran Drescher Extends Run in CINDERELLA Through 6/29

The Emmy and Golden Globe nominated star Fran Drescher ('The Nanny') will extend her engagement an additional three weeks until June 29 in Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA on Broadway, it has been announced by the Tony Award-winning musical's producers Robyn Goodman, Jill Furman and Stephen Kocis. Ms. Drescher - making her Broadway debut this season as Cinderella's wicked stepmother - joined the production in February and, while an extension through June 8 was previously announced, it has been determined anew that Ms. Drescher will remain with the CINDERELLA company through June 29.
