2010 Daytime Emmy Awards Broadcast on CBS Today, 6/27

The Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards will be broadcast from Las Vegas for the first time on June 27th, 2010 over the CBS Television Network. 'It is with great pleasure that the Daytime Emmy Awards returns to the CBS Network,' said Herb Granath, Chairman, NATAS. 'The Daytime Emmy Awards are one of the cornerstones of our business and this year's Las Vegas-based broadcast promises to be even more exciting.'

According to Nielsen Media Research data, 'Meet the Press' was top-rated Sunday morning public affairs program for the week ending May 9. The NBC broadcast attracted 3.084 million total viewers, +21% more (+535,000) than second place CBS' 2.549 million total viewers, a 52% advantage (+1,060,000) over ABC's 2.024 million total viewers, and a +179% (1,979,000) lead over FOX's 1.105 million total viewers.

2010 Daytime Emmy Nominations Announced!

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the nominees for the 37th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards. Many of the major categories were announced this morning on 'CBS News' 'The Early Show,' by Bree Williamson (Jessica Brennan on 'One Life to Live,' ABC) and Travis Stork ('The Doctors,' Syndicated) including the naming of the Lifetime Achievement honoree, Agnes Nixon, the grand dame of Daytime serial drama.

As the one piece on the board that moves either forward or backward but always laterally in the same gesture, the knight's move is a tactical one, relying upon stealth, surprise, and sidelong views. This spring SculptureCenter presents a group exhibition that brings together artists prominent to the dialog of New York's recent past as well as those at the very beginning of their careers. Curated by Fionn Meade, this survey of new sculpture in New York embodies an informed yet playful and questioning view of the contemporary.

According to Nielsen Media Research data, 'Meet the Press' was top-rated Sunday morning public affairs program for the week ending April 25. 'Meet the Press' attracted 3.181 million total viewers (2.3/7 HH), +20% more (+543,000) than second place CBS' 2.638 million total viewers (1.9/5 HH), a 28% advantage (+704,000) over ABC's 2.477 million total viewers (1.7/5 HH), and a 188% (2,076,000 million) lead over FOX's 1.105 million total viewers (0.8/2 HH). 'Meet the Press' delivered an additional 841,000 viewers with rebroadcasts -- 314,000 viewers on the network and 527,000 viewers on MSNBC.

Boston's IRNE Awards Honors York, Paulus, Leon et al.

On Monday, April 19, the Boston Center for the Arts Cyclorama hosted the 2009-2010 IRNE Awards ceremony, honoring the best in Boston theater. A party for all of the nominees was held from 7-8 p.m. followed by the awards ceremony. Many Broadway names were honored, including actress Rachel York and directors Diane Paulus and Kenny Leon.
