King Ave Players is proud to present 'The Fantasticks' at King Ave United Methodist Church! Come and join us for this fabulous show, refreshments, and a free will offering. Admission is free, but a $10 donation is encouraged. Free childcare will be available on Friday and Sunday. Performances run October 19th thru 22nd and are 7:30pm nightly with a 3pm matinee on Sunday. All performances are at King Avenue United Methodist Church, 299 King Ave., Columbus, OH. Golden Thread Productions, the first American theatre company devoted to the Middle East, presents the West Coast premiere of Amir Nizar Zuabi's Oh My Sweet Land, a tour-de-force solo show based on interviews with Syrian refugees in Jordan. Instead of staging the play in a theater, Golden Thread will present the show in kitchens around the Bay Area with performances followed by food sharing and community conversations.

Internationally renowned pianist Marc-Andr Hamelin will be presented by Carnegie Hall in the Stern Auditorium on Wednesday evening, November 1st at 8 pm as part of their Keyboard Virtuosos series.

The Marsh Berkeley has announced Colette Uncensored, the first solo show by acclaimed actress Lorri Holt, will return to the East Bay for the fall with a revised script.

A renowned dancer and choreographer (Mark Phillips Schwamberger) traveling towards an uncertain future is comforted by his young lover (Nick Hardin), an elite dance student. But he is haunted and challenged by the presence of a silent dancer (Tony White), seen only by him. A visit from his first love and college roommate (David Allen Vargo), a precious fun and memory-filled reunion ultimately threatens relationships and forces all to examine the fine line between the embrace and comfort of memories and the danger of living in the past, relying on illusion to avoid the future. Written by Kenneth Talberth, Directed by Dee Shepherd, Music by Russell Boiarsky, Choreography by Tony White. The Michigan Shakespeare Festival, the Official Shakespeare Festival of the State of Michigan, opened their final two productions of the 2017 Season.  Saturday night was the opening of Shakespeare's political tragedy JULIUS CAESAR starring MSF Artistic Associates Robert Kauzlaric as Brutus and Brandon St. Clair Saunders as Cassius and directed by Producing Artistic Director Janice L Blixt.

Iconotheatrix presents The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee April 6-15, 2017 at The MATCH (Midtown Arts and Theatre Center Houston). An eclectic group of mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming 'ding' of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box. A riotous ride, complete with audience participation, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a fast-paced, crowd-pleasing, delightful den of comedic genius. 

The Michigan Shakespeare Festival, the Official Shakespeare Festival of the State of Michigan, designated by the Governor and State Legislature, continued their 2017 "Lend Me Your Ears" reading series with Noel Coward's sophisticated comedy PRIVATE LIVES.  The reading, held at Jackson's Symphony Orchestra Hall (which also houses the offices of the MSF), featured touring company actors Derek Ridge and Sara Long, long-time artistic associate David Blixt, and Producing Artistic Director Janice L Blixt.
