An original musical adaptation of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, inspired by the 1740 French Novella, began previews on Valentine 's Day and opens this weekend, February 27, running through April 26 at the Players Theatre, located at 115 MacDougal Street (between West 3rd and Bleeker) in the West Village. The production features a live chamber ensemble of three percussionist and cello, which hightlingts the rich somber tones of the score (by Michael Sgouros) as well as the magical dream-like tambers. Book and lyrics are by Brenda Bell who also directs with choreography by Bekah Shade. Scroll down for a first look at the cast in action!

On Thursday, June 25th, the Clear Space Theatre Company in Rehoboth will kick off its rotating summer productions of GREASE, RENT, and SEUSSICAL, which will feature thirteen visiting actors from all across the east coast. 

For 15 intrepid singers, the dream of emerging as The Best Musical Theatre Voice in New Jersey will move one step closer to reality as the semi-final round of the 2014 Fearless Icon Vocal Competition takes place Monday, Dec. 1 from 8-10 pm at Union County Performing Arts Center, 1601 Irving Street, Rahway NJ.

A Chorus Line runs at the Villagers Theatre in Somerset, NJ from Nov. 8 - 24 with performances on Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm & Sundays at 2pm. A special talk back with the cast & creative will follow the Nov. 17 performance. Tickets are $20, $18 for seniors/students with special groups rates available.

Directed by Jay Mills, with musical direction by Jack Bender and choreography by Desiree Caro, evening performances of 'A CHORUS LINE' will run May 17, 25, 31, June 1, 7 and 8 at 8pm; matinee performances run May 18, 19, 26 and June 2 at 2pm.
