LAByrinth Theater Company (John Ortiz, Artistic Director; Philip Seymour Hoffman, Co-Artistic Director; John Gould Rubin, Co-Artistic & Executive Director) enters the arena of power chords and monster riffs on October 20th, to present the sixth annual benefit featuring Celebrity Charades: this year's event will be a battle of the bands, invoking the theme 'We Will Rock You' at concert venue Terminal 5 (610 West 56th Street, at 11th Avenue).

On Sunday September 7, 2008 the curtain came down on Broadway for the final performance of the landmark musical Rent. After the curtain came down, the party started at Chelsea Piers on Manhattan's West Side, the celebration attracted a starry crowd who partied into the night.

Also appearing in the episode are Broadway's Tyler Maynard (The Little Mermaid, Altar Boyz), Celisse Henderson (Godspell), and Haviland Stillwell (Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof). 'Broadway Stands Up for Freedom!,' a benefit concert to support the youth programs of the NYCLU, returns Monday, July 21 at 7:30PM in the NYU Skirball Center to shine-light on the NYCLU's dedication to reproductive rights and other civil liberties issues relevant to young people. Jen Bender directs a star-studded cast through a night of musical treats, superb story-telling and poetry, with musical direction by Seth Rudetsky. Responsible Meg has always taken care of her bipolar younger brother Matt. But when she decides to get pregnant-and have her embryos screened for bipolar disorder-is she taking the idea of 'being responsible' too far? A funny and surprising play about bioethics, siblings, and the limits of unconditional love.
Dorothy Fortenberry recently graduated from the Yale School of Drama with an MFA in Playwriting. Yale School of Drama: Good Egg (directed by Snehal Desai), Bibles and Candy (directed by Mike Donahue), After the Flood (directed by Shana Cooper). Yale Cabaret: Bicycling for Ladies (music by Colin Wambsgans, directed by Becca Wolff), We're Celebrities, We're Just Not Famous Yet (directed by Becca Wolff) and the solo piece Paint Show. Her work has been developed at Arena Stage, Perishable Theatre, Studio 42, and The Tank, and produced by Journeyman Productions and Vital Theatre Company. She is the winner of the ASCAP Cole Porter Prize in Playwriting from the Yale School of Drama and the Jane Chambers Student Playwriting Award.
