La Jolla Playhouse presents American Night: The Ballad of Juan José, written by Richard Montoya (Zorro in Hell) for Culture Clash, developed by Culture Clash and Jo Bonney (The Seven, Adoration of the Old Woman), directed by Jo Bonney. A co-production with Center Theatre Group and originally commissioned and produced by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, American Night: The Ballad of Juan José will run January 27 - February 26, 2012 in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre.

RELATIVELY SPEAKING, three one-act comedies by the prolific writing trio of Ethan Coen, Elaine May and Woody Allen and directed by John Turturro, will play its final performance on Sunday, January 29, 2012 following a total of 153 performances including 35 previews and 118 regular performances.

Directed by Michael Garces, NE 2ND AVENUE depicts the lives of eight distinct characters: a Puerto Rican small-time drug dealer, a deprived African-American young lady, a Haitian jitney driver, a Cuban-Jewish grandfather, a Rasta Man, an African-American adolescent trying to find his footing in life, a Cuban rafter and a gay man, who each take the audience on a memorable journey through the intense streets of Miami. Through its characters, NE 2ND AVENUE brings voice to Miami's marginalized urban populations, exploring underlying issues of racism and social injustice, acknowledging the differences among us and ultimately discovering the common threads that bind us together.

The Broadway productions of FOLLIES and RELATIVELY SPEAKING will host special, additional performances to benefit The Actors Fund in January, 2012. FOLLIES will play an nineth weekly show at the Marquis Theatre on Sunday, January 15 at 8pm. RELATIVELY SPEAKING will perform an additional weekly performance on January 29 at 8pm at its home, the Brooks Atkinson.
