Spamilton, the comedic musical take on all things Hamilton and Broadway, opened last night at its new home at the 47th Street Theater/The Puerto Rican Traveling Theater. The new theater on 47th Street, which is just a block from its inspiration and main punchline, hosts the show for an open engagement.

Lesser America (Half Moon Bay, The Bachelors, Carnival Kids, Trevor) presents the New York Premiere of IN A WORD by Lauren Yee, winner of the 2016 Francesca Primus Prize and a finalist for the ATCA/Steinberg Award. Directed by Tyne Rafaeli (The Bridges of Madison County national tour, Actually at Geffen Playhouse), previews begin June 16 at Cherry Lane Theatre, where Lesser America continues its run as the inaugural Company in Residence.

The Bay Street Theatre's dazzling 25th season continues with a wonderful production of Alfred Uhry's enthralling Tony winning play The Last Night Of Ballyhoo. Bay Street Theater's THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO, the Tony Award-winning play by Alfred Uhry, directed by Will Pomerantz, opened this past week. In response to popular demand and three weeks before performances begin, Soho Rep., in association with John Adrian Selzer, extends the U.S. premiere of Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. to May 15.

Soho Rep., in association with John Adrian Selzer, presents the U.S. premiere of Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. by award-winning British playwright Alice Birch. Originally commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company, the American premiere is directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, 30, with both rigor and a playful spirit, and features Daniel Abeles, Molly Bernard, Eboni Booth and Jennifer Ikeda. The production introduces American audiences to Birch, 29, who was a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize in 2012 and 2015 and is a co-winner of the 2014 George Devine Award for Most Promising Playwright.

The Amoralists present the world premiere of UTILITY, written by Emily Schwend and directed by Jay Stull. UTILITY runs now through February 20, 2016 in a limited engagement at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, located at 224 Waverly Place between Perry & West 11th Streets in New York City.
