Dana Aber’s latest one-person play, FINAL BLOW, continues Aber’s style of style of pitting the solo protagonist against antagonists and situations which reveal darker aspects of the character itself. 

Fresh from New York City, Dana Aber's newest solo show, FINAL BLOW, makes its Cleveland debut this February by special engagement with The Depot in a 5-performance whirlwind weekend. FINAL BLOW explores 'boundaries, bullies, besties, and blame' in a show-within-a-show construct.

In an online video released today, Dana Aber (Baggage At The Door, Big Thunder Productions) and Justin D Quackenbush (Bring Back Broadway, Love! Valor! Compassion!) celebrate the approaching return of Broadway and support The Actors Fund.

Concerned about their colleagues who have been left without work during the pandemic, musical theatre collaborators Barbara Bellman and Emiliano Messiez wrote and produced a song of hope, 'When Broadway is Back.'

The musical MAXA, The Maddest Woman in the World, was awarded a residency slot at The Center at West Park. Given the circumstances of COVID-19, director Daniella Caggiano was determined to utilize this historic Presbyterian church to its fullest extent.

Astoria Performing Arts Center (Dev Bondarin, Artistic Director), in association with Teresa Lotz, presents six new musical shorts written in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Featuring the work of fifteen writers, six directors, and a large number of actors, the contributing artists joined the project in the early days of the crisis in the spirit of developing new work without being in the same room to do so. 

MAXA, The Maddest Woman in the World will be having a NY industry reading Thursday, March 12th at 2pm EST in preparation for its world stage premiere at University of Minnesota Duluth in November, 2020, with book and lyrics by Mika Kauffman and music by Thomas Jacobsen.

'10 Days in a Madhouse' will be having an industry staged reading Monday, February 10th in preparation for its Off-Broadway premiere in January 2021.

Live from New York, Dana Aber performs her one-woman musical, Baggage at the Door, at the Blue Sage Center for the Arts, on Wednesday August 28 at 7pm. Recently named an Official Selection of the 2019 ONE Festival in NYC, Baggage at the Door has played sold-out shows throughout the New York theatre scene, and now comes to the North Fork Valley for this special one-night-only free event. Paonia's Merrily Talbott will host.

After sold-out shows at the Dixon Place and the PIT Loft, Dana Aber's Baggage at the Door has been selected to compete in the ONE Festival, happening the week of April 22-28, at the Teatro LATEA. Named an Official Selection of the 2019 ONE Festival, Baggage at the Door will join 9 other original soloshow theatre pieces. Founded by Veronica Caicedo, The ONE Festival is NYC's longest running solo performers theater festival, and returns to The Clemente's LATEA Theater for its 14th year.

Hailed as 'deeply moving' with 'infectious original songs,' Baggage at the Door is a 'disarmingly charming' look at healing from trauma: a wry peek inside the head of a seemingly well-adjusted trauma-queen, it is one woman's struggle to get through the terrors of her past and reclaim tenderness.

On Sunday, November 11th, Algonquin Theater Productions will present a reading of its new musical, 'The Paparazzi', music and lyrics by Al Tapper, book by Tony Sportiello, directed by Tom Herman.  Some will walk to see the reading, some will take cars or subways.  And some will fly from more than 2500 miles away. 

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents 54 Sings As Thousands Cheer on May 24, 2018 at 9:30 PM. Before there was SNL, The Daily Show, and Last Week Tonight, there was As Thousands Cheer, Irving Berlin and Moss Hart's famed musical revue. Opening on Broadway in September 1933, As Thousands Cheer brought laughter and joy to audiences at the Music Box Theatre. Now, 85 years after its Broadway premiere and 20 years since its last production in New York, Feinstein's/54 Below and a cast of New York's finest perform Irving Berlin's score. With classic songs including "Easter Parade," "How's Chances?," "Heat Wave," and "Harlem On My Mind,"  As Thousands Cheer will be a delightful evening of comedy, politics, showstopping songs, and everything in between!

Broadway star Jim Newman ('Hands on a Hardbody', 'Curtains', 'Steel Pier') joins the cast of the new musical 'The Paparazzi' for a reading this November 11th and 12th at 305 West 38th Street, Ripley Grier Studio Theater. Newman plays country music star Jimmy Maguire who falls prey to the paparazzi and their penchant for distorting the truth. The show has music and lyrics by Al Tapper and a book by Tony Sportiello. The reading on the 11th will be at 6pm, while the one on the 12th will be 1pm.
