DALLAS, SEPTEMBER 17, 2014 —The Dallas Opera's thrilling season-opening production of the 2014-2015 “Heights of Passion” Season is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, a revolutionary romantic comedy filled with memorable music and unforgettable characters. The Marriage of Figaro opens on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center located in the Dallas Arts District at 2403 Flora Street.

Dallas Theater Center announced today that Annalee Jefferies will replace June Squibb in the theater's upcoming production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Driving Miss Daisy. Jefferies, a Texas native, returns to DTC for the first time since her performance in The Blonde, the Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead. Squibb is leaving the production due to professional conflicts.

Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for Dracula, the Original Vampire Play, the second production in the 'Alley Theatre @ UH' season. Featuring iconic costume and set designs by Edward Gorey, the Alley's production is based on the original 1927 adaptation of the classic thriller that marvelously balances the menace of the horror tale with sophisticated satire.

The William & Eva Fox Foundation and Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, have announced the ninth round of Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships recipients. The program is designed to support actors' professional and artistic development, to enrich relationships between actors and nonprofit theatres and to ensure continued professional commitment to live theatre. Funded by the Fox Foundation and administered by TCG, the fellowship is one of only a few programs of its kind for actors in the country.

Sweet alien transvestites will take over the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre stage tonight, September 11, 2014 in Dallas Theater Center's all new production of the cult classic The Rocky Horror Show.

Dallas Theater Center previously announced that Austin/Brooklyn band Foe Destroyer would return to the DTC stage in the upcoming production of The Rocky Horror Show. The self-described 'nerd, grunge, trash, pop' group will take center stage at the Wyly Theatre from today, September 11 through October 19.

Dallas Theater Center today announced that Managing Director Heather Kitchen will retire in 2015 after a distinguished 40-year career in professional theater. She has agreed to remain in her position until a successor is appointed.
