The Dallas Opera's thrilling season-opening production of the 2014-2015 'Heights of Passion' Season is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, a revolutionary romantic comedy filled with memorable music and unforgettable characters. The Marriage of Figaro opens on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center located in the Dallas Arts District at 2403 Flora Street.

June Squibb Exits DTC's DRIVING MISS DAISY; Annalee Jefferies Steps in

Dallas Theater Center announced today that Annalee Jefferies will replace June Squibb in the theater's upcoming production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Driving Miss Daisy. Jefferies, a Texas native, returns to DTC for the first time since her performance in The Blonde, the Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead. Squibb is leaving the production due to professional conflicts.

Jay Sullivan, Jeffrey Bean and James Black to Lead DRACULA at the Alley Theatre This Fall

Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for Dracula, the Original Vampire Play, the second production in the 'Alley Theatre @ UH' season. Featuring iconic costume and set designs by Edward Gorey, the Alley's production is based on the original 1927 adaptation of the classic thriller that marvelously balances the menace of the horror tale with sophisticated satire.

TCG Sets Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships 9th Round Recipients

The William & Eva Fox Foundation and Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, have announced the ninth round of Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships recipients. The program is designed to support actors' professional and artistic development, to enrich relationships between actors and nonprofit theatres and to ensure continued professional commitment to live theatre. Funded by the Fox Foundation and administered by TCG, the fellowship is one of only a few programs of its kind for actors in the country.

The Guthrie Theater presents the first production on the Wurtele Thrust Stage in the 2014-2015 season, Wendy Wasserstein's Pulitzer Prize-winning play The Heidi Chronicles. Under the direction of 2014 Tony Award nominee Leigh Silverman (Broadway's Violet, Chinglish, Well), The Heidi Chronicles will feature the talents of Kate Wetherhead, Ben Graney, Tracey Maloney and Zach Shaffer, as well as Sam Bardwell, Eleonore Dendy, Mo Perry and Stacia Rice.

Opening Night of the Season holds the promise of something exciting, awe-inspiring and new! FIRST NIGHT presented by The Dallas Opera offers an evening of spectacular events to kick off the 2014-2015 “Heights of Passion” season with fun and flair. The festivities will begin on the lawn outside of the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. with a red carpet entrance featuring models in custom-designed gowns based on the themes of this season's operas. They continue with a sumptuous black-tie Pre-Performance Dinner at 6:00 p.m., co-chaired by Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger and catered by Wolfgang Puck in Sammons Park in a fabulous tent enhanced by décor inspired by the opera. The Dallas Opera's production of The Marriage of Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a charming comedy, begins at 8:00 p.m. in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House, as well as at Klyde Warren Park where last year's live opening night simulcast attracted thousands!

The Public Theater announced complete casting today for THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, a world premiere musical with a book by Itamar Moses, and music and lyrics by Michael Friedman. Conceived and directed by Daniel Aukin, THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE begins performances on Tuesday, September 30 and runs through Sunday, November 2, with an official press opening on Wednesday, October 22.
