Tonight, May 7, Women Behind Bars arrives at The New Group @ Theatre Row in a one-night-only benefit reading of the play by Tom Eyen. Directed by Scott Elliott, Women Behind Bars features: Charles Busch (The Matron), Janeane Garofalo (Louise), Nancy Giles (Jo-Jo), Josh Hamilton (the men), Natasha Lyonne (Cheri), Cynthia Nixon (Blanche), Rosie O'Donnell (Gloria), Rosie Perez (Guadalupe), Rhea Perlman (Granny, The Warden), Chloe Sevigny (Mary-Eleanor) and Jennifer Tilly (Ada).

Stage and screen stars Kristin Chenoweth & Jim Parsons will announce this year's Tony nominees tomorrow morning, May 1, 8:30am EST at New York Public Library. The Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards, which are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will be broadcast in a live three-hour ceremony from the Beacon Theatre, on the CBS television network on Sunday, June 10, 2012.

Broadway League Awards Education Grants to WIT & WICKED

The Broadway League has awarded coveted New York Education Grants to the Broadway productions of Wit by Margaret Edson, and Wicked by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman. Each production receives a $5,000 grant towards its 2012 educational initiatives. The grants are important to the growth and development of theatre education in the city as they encourage theatres to create more opportunities for young people and to exchange ideas about education.

Two-time Tony Award nominee Gavin Creel will star as Elder Price in the First National Tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON, the production announced today. THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony®Awards including Best Musical, will launch the First National Tour in Denver from August 14-September 2 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Additional casting will be announced soon.
