Kinky Boots, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), opens at the Ohio Theatre October 6-11.

The World Premiere of The SpongeBob Musical will begin performances on Tuesday, June 7th at Broadway in Chicago's Oriental Theatre (24 West Randolph Street, Chicago, IL). This is a limited engagement through Sunday, July 3, 2016.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County and Broadway Across America announced that tickets to four musicals out of its five-show 2015-2016 Broadway in Miami season will go on sale for the first time on Saturday, September 12, 2015, during the Center's ARTSLAUNCH2015. In partnership with the local arts community and presented by American Airlines, ARTSLAUNCH2015 will celebrate the Arsht Center's box office opening and the start of the South Florida arts season with a day full of fun, free activities for the community. The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center will bring Kinky Boots to the Fox Cities this October. Tickets go on sale to the general public today, Aug. 28 at 10 a.m.

Salty Brine proudly announces the premiere of a new cabaret, He's So Unusual, as the sixth installment in his series, Salty Brine's Spectacular Living Record Collection Cabaret.  Salty Brine's Spectacular Living Record Collection Cabaret, which performs on Wednesdays as part of Brine's residency at The Red Room (85 E. 4th St.), explores a different iconic album each month in a live cabaret setting.  He's So Unusual, inspired by by Cyndi Lauper's debut album She's So Unusual, will run on September 9, 16, 23 and 30 with doors opening at 7:30pm and shows beginning at 8:00pm.

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Linda Shelton Executive Director, proudly kicks-off its 2015 fall season on September 22 with a world premiere by Camille A. Brown & Dancers. The work, BLACK GIRL: Linguistic Play, will be performed by an all-female cast during the company's week-long engagement at The Joyce, which runs through September 27. The critically-acclaimed television series "Front and Center" will film two brand-new episodes of the CMA Songwriters Series on Monday, Aug. 24 at Marathon Music Works in Nashville.

Director Luke Sheppard today announces the full company for Harvey Fierstein's Casa Valentina. Sheppard directs Tamsin Carroll (Rita), Ben Deery (Miranda), Charlie Hayes (Eleanor), Bruce Montague (Terry), Robert Morgan (Amy), Matt Rixon (Bessie), Ashley Robinson (Gloria), Gareth Snook (Charlotte) and Edward Wolstenholme (Valentina). The production opens on 16 September, with previews from 10 September, and runs until 10 October.

Composer Paola Prestini, the Creative and Executive Director of National Sawdust (NS), today announced programming for the non-profit's inaugural fall season in its new home-a $16 million, 13,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art chamber hall in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The performance and recording venue, designed by Brooklyn-based architecture firm Bureau V in the shell of century-old former sawdust factory, will provide composers and musicians a setting in which they can flourish, and a place where they are given commissioning support, mentoring and other critical resources essential to create, and then share, their work. For audiences-serious fans and casual listeners alike-the venue will be a place to discover genre-spanning music at accessible ticket prices.
