Alhambra Theatre and Dining Presents 9/11 Tribute Show Tonight

'9/11 We Will Never Forget' is a special one-night only production at the Alhambra as part of its Alhambra After Dark Series. The show is scheduled for tonight, September 9 at 7:30 PM. There will be no dinner service for the show, however the bar will be open. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Tickets are on sale now at the box office and online for $25. Phoenix Theatre Ensemble has announced that its Tenth Anniversary season will begin September 18 with George Bernard Shaw's Don Juan in Hell and a cabaret performance of songs of Jacques Brel titled Go To Brel on September 20 performed at the newly renovated Paradise Theatre Factory at 64 East 4th Street (next door to La MaMa).

As part of its Alhambra After Dark series, the Alhambra Theatre & Dining will be host a one-night-only performance of "9/11 We Will Never Forget." This one-man show, named by the Orlando Sentinel as a 'Best of the Fest' winner at the 2012 Orlando Fringe Festival, is based on the events of September 11th is written and performed by actor and Alhambra Stage Manager, Jason Nettle. Nettle plays 17 New Yorkers who were affected by the day's events in drastically different ways and how they cope with them. This critically acclaimed show is a must-see for anyone who wants to commemorate this fateful day - and for those who were too young to understand it when it happened.

The Alhambra Theatre & Dining will feel like the beaches of North Carolina this August as it opens The Dixie Swim Club, a heartwarming comedy about the power of friendship by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope & Jamie Wooten. The play focuses on five Southern women who met on their college swim team and for 30 years have set aside a long weekend every August to meet up at the same beach cottage on North Carolina's Outer Banks to recharge their relationships. Free from their husbands, children, and jobs, the ladies catch up, laugh and meddle in each other's lives.

For its annual summer family show, the Alhambra Theatre & Dining will stage the Andrew Lloyd Webber hit, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. Written by Weber with lyrics by Tim Rice, this Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to vibrant life in this delightful musical parable. Joseph, his father's favorite son, is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless. The show opened in London's West End in 1973 and then on Broadway in 1982. It has enjoyed several revivals, including a current UK tour since 2010.

Craig Smith, Managing Partner of the Alhambra Theatre & Dining, announced this morning the addition of a new comedy, Weekend Comedy, and a new guest star, Cindy Williams, to its 2013 line up. Cindy Williams is best known for starring from 1976 to 1982 in the television situation-comedy series Laverne & Shirley, in the role of Shirley Feeney, and for her role as Laurie Henderson in the classic film 'American Graffiti.' Cindy brings her considerable talents to the Alhambra for four special weeks September 18 - October 20, 2013.
