After a breif hiatus, ROCK OF AGES re-opened at the Helen Hayes Theatre on Broadway last night, March 24. The five-time Tony Award nominated musical played its final performance at The Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Sunday, January 9, 2011. The production moved houses to make way for RAIN, which had to vacate it's home at the Neil Simon Theatre to accommodate Catch Me If You Can. On last night's episode of American Idol, the top 11 truly shined as they belted out the best of the motown repertoire. The general consensus about the performances has been overwhelming positive, with great responses from the idol judges, and the internet community alike. In yet another season 10 twist from American Idol, tonight's top 13 performances were pre-taped...again. A FOX rep told People magazine, 'We have pre-taped shows at this stage of the competition before ... although it's rare.' Why the hold up, you ask? This being only the second time in Idol history that there are 13 finalists instead of 12, producers wanted to make sure all of the performance fit into the 2 hour time slot.
