The Vineyard Theatre continues its series of one-night-only readings of notable plays from its acclaimed history in celebration of the company's 30th Anniversary. The next two readings will be PTERODACTYLS by Nicky Silver, which will be performed Monday, December 10, 2012 at 7 PM; and A BOY AND HIS SOUL, written and performed by Colman Domingo, which will be performed on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 7 PM. The Public Theater announced today that the acclaimed production of Wild With Happy, written by Colman Domingo and directed by Robert O'Hara, will extend an additional week to Sunday, November 18.

Sundance Institute today announced the seven artists selected for its 2013 Playwrights Retreat at Ucross Foundation, February 4-22, 2013. The annual writing colony at the 20,000-acre working cattle ranch outside of Sheridan, Wyo. provides a supportive environment for artists to create new work and receive guidance and reactions to it at an early stage. Under the supervision of Philip Himberg, Artistic Director of the Theatre Program, and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the Playwrights Retreat is made possible through the generosity of Ucross Foundation.

On Wednesday night, Broadway greats gathered at Joe's Pub to sing selections from Kander and Ebb's Cabaret. The stars came out on Thursday as The Public Theater celebrated the completion of the $40 million revitalization of its downtown home at Astor Place with a special rededication ceremony. The event featured the "throwing out of the first lines" of Shakespeare by city officials and artists with ties to The Public, followed by a special performance from the cast of Hair, which had its world premiere at The Public when it opened in 1967.

Earlier today, the Public Theater celebrated the completion of the $40 million revitalization of its downtown home at Astor Place with a special rededication ceremony.
