Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks 2015 Lineup Announced

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST), the City of Chicago, Chicago Park District and Boeing partner to present the annual citywide summer tradition, Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks. This summer, 24 performances of Shakespeare's Greatest Hits travel to 17 neighborhood parks across Chicago, FREE FOR ALL, July 19-August 16, 2015. Shakespeare's memorable characters come to life in a unique and surprising mash-up of scenes from his most celebrated plays. From Hamilton Park and Garfield Park Conservatory to Washington Park and Gage Park, Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks is the single largest professional urban tour of a Shakespearean production, activating communities and giving Chicagoans direct access to their City's cultural treasures.

This summer, London's Globe Theatre thrilled Prescott and area audiences with its presentation of 'Hamlet,' the only Canadian stop on its current international tour. Today at 12 noon (December 27th) in Toronto, the esteemed company, in partnership with MEI Events International and Arts Alliance, will continue to spread the Bard's good word in a screening of six plays starting with 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' part of its very popular 'Shakespeare's Globe on Screen' series. It will be 'A Midwinter Afternoon's Treat.'
London's Globe Theatre Brings Shakespeare on Film to Canada

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, in partnership with MEI Events International Inc. and Arts Alliance, is arriving in Canada for the first time this fall with six of its incredibly popular theatre performances. Globe On Screen has been wildly popular with cinema audiences in the last three years, with a record-breaking 2013 season of over 2000 screenings in 12 countries that saw an increase of more than 300% in box office sales from 2012 and Twelfth Night, starring Mark Rylance and Stephen Fry, which proved to be the best performing Globe On Screen production to date. MEI is proud to bring this highly successful and beloved series to Landmark Cinemas, the second largest theatre chain in Canada as well as additional independent cinemas, post-secondary institutions and performing arts centres that form part of MEI¹s Alternative Cinema Network.
