The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra recently announced that Tony Award-winning actress and singer, Idina Menzel will make her Cincinnati Pops debut at Music Hall for the Orchestra's 2010-11 season opener on September 24, 25 and 26, performing diverse repertoire of classic pop, musical theater favorites (including hits from Wicked and Rent) as well as songs from her album, I Stand. Bernadette Peters was initially scheduled for the Pops opening concert, but is now scheduled to open the following Pops season, Sept. 16-18, 2011 in Music Hall.

Tony Award winner Catherine Zeta-Jones is interested in playing Dame Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming film based on Sam Kashner's and Nancy Schoenberger's book 'Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and the Marriage of the Century,' Entertainment Tonight reports. Angelina Jolie is also interested in the role. Among those interested in the part of Richard Burton are Russell Crowe, Clive Owen, and Colin Farrell.

Production has begun on One Day, the feature film version of the internationally praised novel of the same name by David Nicholls, which this month enters The New York Times bestseller list. Academy Award nominee Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess star in the movie. One Day is a co-production in the unique partnership of Random House Inc.'s Random House Films division and Focus Features. Collette, Tennant, et al. to Star in 'Fright Night' Remake

Toni Collette, David Tennant, Colin Farrell, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Anton Yelchin will star in a remake of the 1985 film 'Fright Night,' produced by DreamWorks, the Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog reports. The film deals with a teenager (Yelchin) who believes his neighbor (Farrell) to be a vampire. Collette will play the protagonist's mother, while Tennant will play a magician who claims to be an expert on vampires. Mintz-Plasse will play a friend of the protagonist who joins the vampires.
