The Obie Award-winning Ice Factory Festival (Artistic Director Robert Lyons) has announced hosts and guest artists for "Fridays on Ice," its late-night performance salon that includes a diverse and distinctive lineup of writer/performers creating work not usually seen in downtown theatre spaces, but more typically found performing in nightclubs, bars, and private apartments.

5th Wall Theatre, the award-winning professional theatre dedicated to breaking through boundaries, will open its third season this fall with a comedic examination of gender politics. "Rapture, Blister, Burn," by Gina Gionfriddo, which was hailed as "one of the top 10 plays of 2012," kicks off a three-show subscription season in September.

FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade announces their 2016-17 season which will include a World Premiere by playwright J.Stephen Brantley, two World Premieres from their newest resident theatre company, The Dirty Blondes, the inaugural production of Hot Tramp Productions, the annual Pumpkin Pie Show, and new editions of the Gotham Storytelling Festival, the HP Lovecraft Festival, Burlesque Blitz, STEMFest, PolitiKos, the Obie Award-winning The Fire This Time Festival, and the 11th Annual FRIGID Festival. 

The Play Company's (PlayCo) Idea Lab series complements the productions in their 2016 season by bringing together artists, scholars, writers and community leaders for stand-alone events to examine themes raised in the shows. Following performances of the world premiere of The Wildness, a co-produced with Ars Nova, Playco will present three post show events over three Thursdays, March 3, 10 & 17.

The world premiere of THE WILDNESS: SKY-PONY'S ROCK FAIRY TALE, with text by Obie Award winner Kyle Jarrow and Lauren Worsham and songs by Kyle Jarrow, opens tonight, February 29, 2016. Presented by Ars Nova in collaboration with The Play Company, a limited Off-Broadway engagement is slated through March 19.
