TIME Magazine's #1 Show of the Year, MATILDA THE MUSICAL, is coming to San Jose as part of Broadway San Jose's 2016-17 season. Produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Dodgers, the first national tour of MATILDA THE MUSICAL will be coming to The Center for the Performing Arts (255 S. Almaden, San Jose) March 7-12, 2017. 

Rehearsals begin on Monday, January 9, for the Broadway premiere of Groundhog Day, the new musical featuring music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and a book by Danny Rubin, and directed by Matthew Warchus.

TIME Magazine's #1 Show of the Year, MATILDA THE MUSICAL, announced today the 2017 North American tour dates after a twice-extended six-month sit-down production in Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre, which concludes its highly successful run on January 7, 2017.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's Australian Production of Matilda The Musical will finish its triumphant Melbourne season this evening, having enjoyed sold-out houses since opening at the Princess Theatre in March this year.

Due to unprecedented demand for tickets, David Mirvish the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers have announced that the Canadian premiere production of MATILDA THE MUSICAL is once again forcing them to extend its run, this time through January 8th, 2017. This will be the final extension, MATILDA must leave Toronto after its final performance on January 8th.

Ahead of celebrations for its fifth birthday in the West End this autumn and Roald Dahl's centenary on 13 September, the Royal Shakespeare Company's multi award-winning production of Matilda The Musical has announced that Sara Sheen and Abbie Vena will join Zaris-Angel Hator and Clara Read in the title role from 13 September 2016. Tickets for the new booking period, which includes performances at the Cambridge theatre between 30 May and 15 October 2017, will go on sale on the centenary of Roald Dahl's birth, 13 September.

Two alumni of Matilda's Broadway company and national tour will join the Broadway company this month.

Artistic Director of the Old Vic Matthew Warchus, composer and lyricist Tim Minchin, choreographer Peter Darling, and designer Rob Howell, four of the creators of the international sensation Matilda The Musical, have joined forces with writer Danny Rubin to collaborate on a new musical based on his 1993 hit film Groundhog Day. The brand-new musical had its opening today at the Old Vic and the critics are weighing in.

Lesli Margherita, Broadway's original Mrs. Wormwood, returns to MATILDA THE MUSICAL at the Shubert Theatre beginning September 6, 2016.

Sommervold Hall for six performances on March 22-26, 2017.

The Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) has announced new performance dates for TIME Magazine's #1 Show of the Year, MATILDA THE MUSICAL. The award-winning production, which was previously announced as being at PPAC January 3 - 8, 2017, will now perform at the Theatre Wednesday, May 17 - Sunday, May 21, 2017.
