On Thursday, July 7, open call auditions for the first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's landmark rock musical GODSPELL took place at The Actors Chapel in midtown Manhattan. Telsey + Company, the casting office for GODSPELL, is seeking musical theatre performers with strong singing voices and comedic ability, ages 16-30. All ethnicities and types were welcome. Thousands of hopefuls showed up for their chance to participate in the historic revival. SILENCE! The Musical, the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, began performances June 24th at Theatre 80, located at 80 St. Marks Place (between First & Second Ave.) The official opening is this Saturday night, July 9th and the limited engagement is set to run through August 13th.

Saturday evening July 2nd, Joan Rivers was spotted in the audience at SILENCE! The Musical, the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, at Theatre 80, located at 80 St. Marks Place (between First & Second Ave.) The legendary comedienne/actress was the first to leap to her feet at the end of the performance, leading the standing ovation. Joan chatted with the cast after the show and she even offered some tongue-in-cheek advice to leading lady Jenn Harris regarding her first scene. Jenn replied, 'You're an asshole!' The two actresses fell into each others arms dissolved in laughter.

WaterTower Theatre today announced the cast for Little Shop of Horrors, running July 22 - August 21, 2011 at the Addison Theatre Centre.

The 40th Anniversary production and first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's landmark rock musical GODSPELL will begin preview performances Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Circle in the Square Theatre (1633 Broadway at 50th Street). Directed by Daniel Goldstein and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Christopher Gattelli (South Pacific), Opening Night is Monday, November 7 (7 p.m.).

Vassar & New York Stage and Film announce complete casting for its two Inside Look play workshops to be offered this season at Powerhouse Theater: Margaret and Craig by David Solomon, directed by Sheryl Kaller (July 1-3) and Handball by Seth Zvi Rosenfeld, directed by Cándido Tirado (July 15-17).
