The critically-acclaimed new Broadway musical NEWSIES, based on the cult classic movie of the same name starring Christian Bale, is currently in performances at the Nederlander Theatre. The show just released a new commercial which features the song 'Seize the Day.'

Nominations for the 57th Annual Drama Desk Awards were announced at a news conference this morning by Drama Desk winners Donna Murphy and Brian d'Arcy James. The 57th Annual Drama Desk Awards will take place on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 8:00 PM at The Town Hall in Manhattan.

The producers of the Off-Broadway smash SILENCE! The Musical, launched an exciting new website today, April 26th. David Garrison, currently starring as Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the Off-Broadway smash SILENCE! The Musical, will appear on two repeat broadcasts of TV Guide Network's reunion show, "The Cast of Married With Children: Where Are They Now" tonight (April 26th) at 11 PM and tomorrow (April 27th) at 7 PM (check local listings for channel).

Hundreds of hopeful actors, ages 6 to 16, showed up at the Circle in the Square Theatre today, April 25, to audition for the Broadway musical GODSPELL. The audition panel, including director Daniel Goldstein, is looking to fill 10 roles in the show. About 300 kids, including Holly Block, Gaten Matarazzo and Ellis Gage, who are featured in the video below, performed 16 measures of music for the panel.

The digital release of the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Newsies has made debuted on the Billboard charts, landing at #1 on the Top Broadway Chart, #27 on the Top Digital Chart and #74 on the Billboard Top 200.

On April 13th, SILENCE! The Musical received the 2012 Telly Award for Use of Humor in a Television Commercial. The hit Off-Broadway show's new commercial won the prestigious honor at the 33rd Annual Telly Awards over nearly 11,000 entries from around the world. Pageant, the Musical will have industry readings presented by Shea Sullivan May 1st in New York under the direction of Christopher Gattelli. Conceived by Robert Longbottom, book and lyrics by Bill Russell and Frank Kelly, and music by Albert Evans, this musical is described as 'Miss America meets Priscilla Queen of the Desert.'

This Friday, April 27, 'Submissions Only' will air its episode 2 season finale, featuring previously announced guest star Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, On The Town), right here on BroadwayWorld.
