Paul Leschen (music) and Fred Sauter (Book and Lyrics), the downtown, terminally hip, vinyl-cool writing team first presented a reading of their sci-fi, thriller, rock musical BEDBUGS!!! on November 17th, 2007 at New York University's Black Box Theatre.

Eric Anderson (Broadway's South Pacific, the US tour of Camelot) will join the previously announced cast as Dexter, along with Donna Vivino (Wicked 1st Nat. Tour, Hairspray) as Mother, Jeff Hiller (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) as Tom Wansett, and Stephen Sheffer (NYMF's Bedbugs!!!) as Chad.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival smash hit BEDBUGS!!! will receive a long-awaited industry reading at Pearl Studios in NYC on Monday, January 17, 2011, at 3pm and 7pm. 80s rock excess meets the creature feature in this hilarious and extremely timely hard-rocking new musical by Paul Leschen and Fred Sauter, directed by Samuel Buggeln. On Sunday October 5th, The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) concluded its fifth year, a year which featured 24 full productions, a dance series, a developmental series, concerts and special events. To celebrate the successful 2008 Festival, NYMF'S BROADWAY PROM took place that same evening Sunday 5th 2008 at TOUCH (240 W 53nd Street) from 8PM to 12am.

From Upper East Side high-rises to Union Square subway benches, from a woman found dead in her infested Queens apartment to the famous Fox 5 newsroom incident, bedbugs have been getting around. The current problem has spawned new extermination businesses, bedbug specialists and websites where fellow sufferers congregate to share horror stories and resources.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Leschen, Mrozek & Sauter present the world premiere of BEDBUGS!!!, an official selection of the New York Musical Theatre Festival's 2008 Next Link Project.

The play New Amsterdames by Flying Fig Theater celebrated their opening night party on December 3 at the Soho Room (203 Spring St.) in Manhattan. Flying Fig Theater presents a limited engagement of New Amsterdames, written by Ellen K. Anderson and directed by Heather Ondersma. Performances run through December 16, 2007 at HERE Arts Center
