Victory Gardens Theater presents the final show of its 40th anniversary season, the Midwest Premiere of The Who & the What by Ayad Akhtar, directed by Ron OJ Parson.  The Who & the What runs June 12 - July 12, 2015 with the press performance on Friday, June 19, 2015, at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust today announced that the Eighth Annual 'Mimi' Awards will be presented on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Lincoln Center Theater.  The 'Mimi' Awards are presented biennially to honor the accomplishments of some of the most gifted up-and-coming American playwrights.

Irish Theatre of Chicago, formerly Seanachai Theatre Company, is pleased to announce its 2015-16 Season, featuring a U.S premiere and two Midwest premieres. Diversionary Theatre has announced their 2015/2016 Season; an impressive hand-selected assortment of five critically-acclaimed productions curated by the theatre's new Executive Artistic Director: Matt M. Morrow.  This year's collection of productions feature pieces by ground-breaking award-winning playwrights, five premieres (one world-wide, three West Coast, and one San Diego), several exciting renowned guest artist collaborations, and the impressive return of fan-favorite San Diego artists. 

In Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, which will mark the Wilma's 11th production of a work by Tom Stoppard, minor characters take center stage as they journey on a boat taking Prince Hamlet to England with players from the royal court. As these characters unknowingly sail to a fate Shakespeare has already scripted for them, arguments of free will and determinism abound, all set to the constant travel game of flipping coins. In this battle of wits, Stoppard's characteristic wordplay and case of mistaken identities create a spectacle that's philosophical, clownish, and complete with a pirate-ambush.

The Latina/o Theatre Commons (LTC), in collaboration with Emerson College's HowlRound, a commons by and for people who make performance, announces the 2015 Carnaval of New Latina/o Work (Carnaval 2015) showcasing 12 new works by Latina/o playwrights from across the U.S., July 23-25, 2015 in Chicago.

Today, March 2, New York's Playwrights Horizons hosted a celebration of the winner and finalists of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, marking the 37th Anniversary of the international prize, which is based in Houston, New York and London. The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize is the oldest and largest prize awarded to women playwrights.
