Instead of the usual gala fare -- bits of firecracker variations and pieces of ballet classics -- Sergei Danilian's 'Ardani 25 Dance Gala' at New York City Center, August 19 and 20, is classic Danilian. The intrepid impresario, who has never side-stepped risk, will celebrate Ardani Artists's quarter century of producing in the United States and abroad with a trio of U.S. premieres, two by young, unknown, but up-and-coming Russian choreographers, and one by American Ballet Theatre principal Marcelo Gomes.

In light of their 10th anniversary, Dance Parade celebrated and launched its Decade of Dance campaign with a "Taste of Dance Parade" performances featuring ensembles and groups representing a wide variety of dance genres and cultures. These two plays turned Coward into an overnight sensation, one light and madcap, the other dark and shocking. Written at the same time, they represent opposite sides of Coward's talent. Cygnet Theatre is pleased to announce a Concert Staged-Reading of the Tony Award-winning musical EVITA, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. The two-night-only performance, presented on Monday, August 3rd, and Tuesday, August 4th at 7 pm at Cygnet Theatre in Old Town, will feature some of San Diego's brightest musical theatre stars.
