STAGE TUBE: Sneak Peek at ACT-San Diego's A CHRISTMAS CAROL

The award-winning Actors' Conservatory Theatre (ACT-San Diego, www.actsandiego.com) presents an adaptation of Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL, with a 31 member youth and young adult cast. The production is Directed by Bernard Baldan, with Musical Direction by Desha Crownover and Choreography by Erin Petersen. Evans, announces casting for the final productions of its 41st Season.  The season continues with Tony nominated Mothers and Sons, written by Terrence McNally and directed by Steve Scott. The cast includes Cindy Gold (Katharine Gerard), Ben Miller (Bud Ogden-Porter), Jeff Parker (Cal Porter) and Ben Sprunger (Wil Ogden).

Desert Theatreworks's new version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL is touching and funny. Director Lance Phillips-Martinez adapted the Charles Dickens novella by using Dickens' words for narration and dialog. He also selected period Christmas carols, sung primarily by the chorus,The clever staging, the use of a combination musical chorus and Greek chorus (the latter narrates early parts of the story), the costumes, the make-up, the imaginative sound and lighting, the elements of humor, and, of course, the acting all contribute to the success of this top-notch production.

Berkshire Theatre Group is pleased to announce the 10th annual community production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, adapted by Eric Hill and co-directed by Eric Hill and Travis G. Daly, and presented for the fifth time at The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield. This year's production includes 30 talented young Berkshire county actors, many of whom are returning to the Colonial Theatre, and some who are performing for the first time. An exciting new twist on an old favorite, Theatre IV's musical version of 'A Christmas Carol' is coming to The Alden in McLean. Perhaps the best loved holiday story of all time, Theatre IV's adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic is particularly suited to children. Performances are at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. today, Dec. 12. Tickets are $15, $10 for McLean Community Center district residents. The Alden is located inside the center, at 1234 Ingleside Ave.

The Kennedy Center presents the world premiere production of OLIVERio: A Brazilian Twist in the Kennedy Center Family Theater from January 30-February 21, 2016. Part of the Kennedy Center's Theater for Young Audiences 2015-2016 season, the production is inspired by the literary classic, Charles Dickens's Oliver Twist, directed by Juliette Carillo, with book and lyrics by Karen Zacarias and music by Deborah Wicks La Puma. The press opening performance is Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. OLIVERio is most appropriate for patrons ages 9 and up and their families. 

Asolo Rep to Stage U.S. Premiere of HETTY FEATHER

Asolo Repertory Theatre proudly announces the final production of its 2015-16 season, the U.S. premiere of the U.K. phenomenon HETTY FEATHER, Jacqueline Wilson's wildly popular U.K. novel adapted into a thrilling theatrical masterpiece by Emma Reeves. A 2015 Olivier Award nominee for Best Family Entertainment, HETTY FEATHER will have one preview on Thursday, June 2 at 7pm, open Friday, June 3 at 7pm and run through Sunday, June 26 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts. Asolo Rep's production will feature the entire West End cast, starring Phoebe Thomas as Hetty. Sally Cookson, who directed the West End production, will direct Asolo Rep's production.

Ebenezer Scrooge is the central character in Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, but equally important to the story are the spirits whose visits transform him from miser to philanthropist. In his new adaptation of the classic, which runs through December 27, Hedgerow Theatre Artistic Director Jared Reed decided to incorporate the use of puppets to portray them.

Following a ten-year hiatus from the London stage, A Christmas Carol at the Noel Coward Theatre marks Jim Broadbent's return to the West End. Patrick Barlow's take on the Charles Dickens classic is unlike anything I've ever seen before - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Although Broadbent's Scrooge is still somewhat cold-hearted, he is by no means as cruel as other depictions.
