Long Beach Playhouse Presents A CHRISTMAS CAROL, Now thru 12/20

By:

It's a timeless story you and your kids will love - Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol. Long Beach Playhouse's family invites you and yours to a great holiday treat that everyone will enjoy: a fast paced, highly theatrical retelling of the Dickens tale directed and adapted by Phie Mura who was recently seen in BAt Boy the Musical in the Playhouse's Studio Theater, complete ghosts, vibrant costumes, one giant turkey, and plenty holiday cheer.

LBP's A Christmas Carol runs tonight, Dec 12 - 20, with matinee and evening performances to fit busy family schedules. The tale is told by ten actors playing multiple roles, many times changing character onstage before the audience. The role of Scrooge is aptly played by Playhouse regular, Gregory Cohen, who directed the play four years ago.

"It is always exciting to watch audiences relive their favorite parts of the classic tale," said Andrew Vonderschmitt, executive and producing artistic director at LBP. "And seeing the look on children's faces as the ghosts appear is truly magical."

The cast, in addition to Cohen, includes Steve Shane, Leigh Hayes, Rick Reischman, Aaron Pressburg, Gary Douglas, Lisa March, Ashley J. Woods, Hannah Rose, and Carmel Artstein as "Tiny" Tim.

A Christmas Carol opens on December 12 and runs through December 20.
