Trustus Theatre is reviving its hit production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol on the Thigpen Main Stage this November. This recent adaptation by Patrick Barlow, the Tony-award winning playwright of The 39 Steps, is a whirlwind telling of the classic holiday story where five actors take on all of the roles. Scrooge and all of his ghostly counterparts will return to the Thigpen Main Stage as A Christmas Carol opens Friday November 21st at 8:00pm. The show will run through December 20th, 2014. Trustus Theatre is kicking off its thirtieth anniversary season with Christopher Durang's hilarious "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike," winner of the 2012 Tony Award for Best Play. The show runs through September 27th, with the first audience talk-back of the season following the matinee on September 21st.

Director Chad Henderson to adapt The Restoration's album 'Constance' into a theatrical production this August.

The critically acclaimed narrative album Constance by The Restoration takes its first steps towards becoming a theatrical adaptation this summer as a concert version of the album is presented under the direction of Chad Henderson in Trustus Theatre's Premieres Festival. Performances will be August 21st and 23rd at 8:00pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at www.trustus.org. Premieres packages may be purchased for $50, and include a ticket to all three Premieres events. Packages must be purchased by calling the Trustus box office at (803) 254-9732.

Trustus Theatre announced their 30th Anniversary season to a standing-room crowd at Tapps Arts Center on June 5th, 2014. Managing Director Larry Hembree and Artistic Director Dewey Scott-Wiley revealed the shows coming to the Thigpen Main Stage and Richard and Debbie Cohn Side Door Theatre in the 2014/2015 Season. This season is celebration of the tenants that have made Trustus the premiere professional theatre in Columbia: producing diverse modern theatre and original works with the highest quality casts.

The entire month of August 2014 will be dedicated to the creation of original works at Trustus Theatre. The month will kick off with the world premiere of the 2013 winner of the Trustus Playwrights' Festival: Deborah Brevoort's The Velvet Weapon. The show will open August 8th at 8:00pm, and run through August 16, 2014. Trustus will host a reading of the winning script from the 2014 Trustus Playwrights' Festival on August 16th at 2:00pm.

Trustus Theatre is bringing Evil Dead: The Musical to the Thigpen Main Stage this summer, and it's going to get bloody. This campy adaptation of the cult classic b-horror movie series will have audiences laughing and dodging blood as the grisly events from the films come to life on stage complete with musical numbers. Patrons wishing to become more involved in the action may purchase 'Splatter Zone' seats where they will be splashed with blood from the stage. Evil Dead: The Musical opens Friday June 20th at 8:00pm and runs through July 26th, 2014.

Henderson Bros. Burlesque returns to the Capital City this February for another round of teases, bawdiness, and skin. Last year's premiere performance saw over 600 patrons at the one-night-only event, and co-creators Chad and Terrance Henderson have crafted another night of naughty fun with new acts, dances, and teases. Henderson Bros. Burlesque will run tonight, February 13th through the 15th, with show times at 8:00pm every night.

This new script by Patrick Barlow, the Tony-award winning playwright of The 39 Steps, is a whirlwind telling of the classic holiday story where five actors take on all of the roles. Trustus will be one of only four theatres who have the rights to produce this new adaptation as the show also makes its Off-Broadway premiere this holiday season. Scrooge and all of his ghostly counterparts will come to the Thigpen Main Stage as A Christmas Carol opens tonight, December 6th at 8:00pm.
