Leno & Fallon Earn High Late Night Ratings 12/27-31

NBC's 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' has delivered ratings victories for the week of December 27-31, as encore telecasts won the time period over all cable and broadcast entertainment competition in viewers 18-49 and total viewers. At 12:35 a.m. ET, rebroadcasts of 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' also delivered bigger audiences in adults 18-49 than any cable or broadcast entertainment competition in the hour. Note that most Friday late-night telecasts were preempted or excluded from these averages due to the New Year's Eve holiday and that Tuesday NBC late-night shows were delayed by an NFL overrun.

Led by two primetime NFL telecasts, which were the #1 and #2 programs of the week in adults 18-49 and other key measures, NBC won the week of December 27-January 2 in adults 18-49, total viewers and virtually all other key measures, averaging a 2.9 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49 and 8.5 million viewers overall, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. This marks NBC's third weekly victory in the last four weeks in the key demographic of adults 18-49.
ABC Has 5 Of The Top 10 Non-Sports Shows For Week

During the week of December 27, 2010, ABC aired 5 of the Top 10 non-sports TV programs in Adults 18-49, including 3 of the Top 4 and the No. 1 scripted show with 'Desperate Housewives': 'Desperate Housewives' - No. 1, 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 11' - No. 3, 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' - No. 4, 'Brothers & Sisters' - No. 8 and 'Modern Family' - No. 10. ABC's 'Desperate Housewives' was also the most-watched scripted program overall for the week.

NBC's late-night lineup has delivered ratings wins for the fourth quarter of 2010, as 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' has taken its hour over all cable and broadcast entertainment competition in viewers 18-49 and total viewers and out-delivered CBS's 'Late Show with David Letterman' in all key ratings categories.
