Most actors can only dream of having the career Julie White has had. A Tony-winner for 2006's THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED, White spent five years on TV's GRACE UNDER FIRE, starred in the mega-hit TRANSFORMERS franchise and the Academy Award winning LINCOLN, and on TV with FRIEND's Matthew Perry and fellow Tony-winner Laura Benanti in GO ON. White can now be seen on Showtime's NURSE JACKIE, where she plays Tony-nominee Edie Falco's AA sponsor. I spoke to her the Friday before Easter as she was preparing to head up to her fixer-upper outside the city to prune roses and pile up leaves with her good friend Tony-winner Cady Huffman.

The Velocity of Autumn is a 90-minute powder keg dark comedy by Eric Coble that stars Academy Award winner Estelle Parsons (Bonnie and Clyde, 'Roseanne') and two-time Tony Award winnerStephen Spinella (Angels in America, Lincoln, '24'), is directed by Molly Smith and opened last night, April 21, 2014 at the Booth Theatre. The trio reminisced and re-lived adored songs such as The Best Night of My Life, Think How It's Gonna Be & One Hallowe'en along with the amazing supporting cast. Kander & Ebb's THE ACT, featuring Anna Chlumsky, Tony winners Randy Graff and Cady Huffman, and more, will play 54 Below in a concert version, continuing tonight April 4 (8 and 11 p.m.). The songs of the show-which originally played Broadway in 1977 with Liza Minnelli as the lead-take place in a nightclub, so it's only fitting this one-night-only event will take place in the swankiest nightclub in town!

Music Conservatory of Westchester will take you from the greens and the courts to The Great White Way on Monday, June 23rd for its 13th Annual Golf and Tennis Classic at Whippoorwill Club in Armonk. Following a day of fun competition, the not-for-profit community music school will hold a Broadway-themed awards dinner honoring iconic performer Barbara Cook and acclaimed conductor John Mauceri with lifetime achievement awards.

Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC), dedicated to advancing the art and business of live entertainment, held their 28th Annual MAC Awards celebration last evening at BB King's Blues club in Times Square. Winners in twenty-five categories were announced. The show was hosted by the vivacious singer, band leader, multiple MAC Award winner and 2014 Nominee, Terese Genecco. The gala was produced by Julie Miller and directed by Lennie Watts, the current MAC President. Don Rebic served as Musical Director. Norm Lewis - the Tony Award nominated leading man who will soon make history as the first African-American Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway- will play the title role in a special industry reading of Mandela: A New Musical with book, music and lyrics by Steven M. Fisher on Monday, March 31 at 3:00 PM. It will be directed by David Glenn Armstrong with Music Direction by Micah Young.

The award winning Choice Films, Michael Cohen, Robin Reinach & Ben Feldman will present an invite-only reading of the new play CONSENT, by critically acclaimed playwright David Rhodes, directed by Drama Desk Award winner Josh Hecht. The reading will take place in New York City on March 31st, 2014.
