The Walt Disney Company today announced that THE RIVER, the much-anticipated supernatural TV thriller from executive producer Steven Spielberg and the director of 'Paranormal Activity' Oren Peli, is set to premiere in eight other countries within hours of its U.S. debut on the ABC Television Network on Tuesday, February 7 at 9:00 p.m., ET.

The highly anticipated two-hour series premiere of THE RIVER airs TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET), which only leaves a couple of days for audiences to explore the set of THE RIVER through the new interactive and innovative experience on Xbox LIVE.

Paramount Pictures has just announced that principal photography is now underway in Los Angeles for the currently untitled JJ Abrams upcoming STAR TREK sequel. Broadway vet Paul Rudd will be teaming up with Zach Galifianakis yet again for the upcoming comedy 'Will,' which Perez Hilton summarizes as centering around 'Rudd whose life and destiny is being written by a scribe in Heaven played by Galifianakis. But one day the scribe stops writing and it's up to Rudd to go on about his day on his own.' Demetri Martin wrote the script and Little Miss Sunshine's Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton are directing.

ShoWest has named Chris Pine ShoWest Male Star of Tomorrow, it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, co-managing director of the event, which will be held March 30-April 2, 2009, in Las Vegas. Pine will be presented with the ShoWest Male Star of Tomorrow Award at ShoWest's Final Night Banquet and Award Ceremony on Thursday, April 2nd, at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas. 'ShoWest has a history of recognizing major talents at the very earliest points in their rising careers,' said Neuhauser.
