Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's beloved coming-of-age musical comedy PIPPIN returns to Broadway in an all new production directed by Diane Paulus featuring choreography by Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse and circus creation by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (also known as 7 Fingers). Tune-in to ABC's "The View" tomorrow, Tuesday, June 4th to watch a performance from the Tony-nominated new Broadway production of PIPPIN. "The View" airs 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST on ABC Channel 7 in New York City (check local listings). PIPPIN is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

Today in 1975, Chicago opened at the 46th Street Theatre (now the Richard Rogers Theatre), where it ran for 936 performances. Chicago is a musical set in Prohibition-era Chicago, with music is by John Kander with lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse. The story is a satire on corruption in the administration of criminal justice and the concept of the 'celebrity criminal'. The original cast starred Chita Rivera as Velma Kelly, Gwen Verdon as Roxie Hart, Jerry Orbach as Billy Flynn and Barney Martin as Amos Hart.

The Delaware Theatre Company (DTC) is proud to announce an evening of Broadway Magic with Tony Award Winning Actress Donna McKechnie and Tony Award Nominated Actor Malcolm Gets. The Tony-nominated new Broadway production of PIPPIN has broken the house record for the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) for the third week in a row, grossing $934,760 over eight performances for the week ending May 26, 2013.

New York City director-choreographer Stas Kmiec presented the award for 'Best Choreographer' at the annual Jan Kiepura Musical Theater Awards, which took place in Warsaw on May 16. Statuettes were handed out to musical theater artists in 12 categories.

Porchlight Music Theatre presents Pal Joey, book by John O'Hara, music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Lorenz Hart, April 20 - May 26, at Stage 773, 1225 West Belmont Ave. Directed by Porchlight Music Theatre's Artistic Director, Michael Weber with music direction by Porchlight Artistic Associate Doug Peck (reuniting with Weber for the first time since their collaboration on Porchlight's triumphant production of Assassins) and choreography by Porchlight Artistic Associate Brenda Didier, Pal Joey stars Adrian Aguliar, 'Joey Evans,' Susie McMonagle, 'Vera Simpson,' Laura Savage, 'Linda English,' Matt Orlando, 'Ludlow Lowell' and Sharriese Hamilton, 'Gladys Bumps.'

Now in its third year of operation, Ann Arbor's Penny Seats Theatre Company is set to produce its trademark summer show at the West Park Band Shell, 215 Chapin Street in Ann Arbor for three weekends from July 11 through July 27.
