Bay Street Theatre presents the World Premiere of CONVICTION (Today, May 27-June 15) by Carey Crim and directed by Scott Schwartz, Bay Street's new Artistic Director. The production is co-produced by Bay Street Theatre, Rubicon Theatre in California, Dead Posh Productions, London and Canada's Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre.

The Village Voice, the nation's largest alternative weekly newspaper, will hold the 59th Annual Obie Awards tonight, Monday, May 19, 2014, at Webster Hall in the East Village, 125 East 11th Street. The Obies will be co-hosted by the distinguished actress Tamara Tunie, whose many memorable stage performances include the lead in the Public Theater's Troilus and Cressida, while her film and television credits include Devil's Advocate, FLIGHT, City Hall, Snake Eyes, Eve's Bayou, The Caveman's Valentine, The Red Road, 'Law and Order: SVU', '24', 'Sex and The City', 'NYPD Blue'.

According to Collider, rumor has it that Bill Condon may have been chosen to direct Disney's live-action adaptation of their classic Beauty and the Beast. Ever since Alice in Wonderland's success in 2010, Disney has slowly been adapting their classics into live-action films. Side Show, based on the true life story of conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton, is set to be revived at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. in performances running from June 14 - July 13, 2014. Side Show originally opened on Broadway in 1997, starring Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner as the Hilton twins. Telling the story of their rise from circus attractions to famous vaudeville performers during the Great Depression, Side Show brings us the sisters' lifelong search for fortune, romance, and a spot on the stage.

Woodie King, Jr.'s New Federal Theatre's 44th anniversary will culminate with a special Gala at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center (199 Chambers Street) on Sunday evening March 16th.
