59E59 Theaters announces the 2013 line up for the 8th annual EAST TO EDINBURGH festival, beginning on Tuesday, July 9 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 28.

After three successful seasons in New York City, United Solo, the world's largest solo theatre festival, will expand its operations beyond the United States. A selection of high-quality one-person productions, including those awarded in previous seasons, will be presented September 12-15, 2013 on the stage of Teatr Syrena, a premier three-hundred-seat venue located in downtown Warsaw, Poland.

Gefilte Fish Chronicles the Musical was invited to perform at the White House. The event was hosted by Presidential Senior Advisor, Valerie Jarrett and Congresswoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz. terraNOVA COLLECTIVE and Producing Artistic Director, Jennifer Conley Darling, are pleased to present acclaimed mime, Bill Bowers' BEYOND WORDS, straight from a White House engagement to the west village: BEYOND WORDS will be a special headliner to kick off the 10TH Annual soloNOVA Arts Festival, the award-winning and longest-running solo performance festival in New York City, performing today, May 22 at 8pm and Saturday May 25 at 2pm at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street, NYC). The eight other solo shows included in the soloNOVA Arts Festival will play two weeks only at IRT Theater (154 Christopher Street, inside the landmark Archive Building). Performances begin Thursday, May 23 and continue through Sunday, June 2.

Acclaimed mime, Bill Bowers' BEYOND WORDS, and Jeanne Sakata's HOLD THESE TRUTHS performed by the 2013 Drama Desk Award nominee Joel De La Fuente, will be presented in celebration of the art of solo storytelling.

Local and international artists are invited to submit their shows to the world's largest solo theatre festival. Proposals may represent all varieties of solo performance, including storytelling, puppetry, dance, improv, stand-up, magic, drama, and others. Selected shows will be presented between October 3 and November 24, 2013 at Theatre Row in New York City.

On the day following the tragedies in Newtown, CT, 46 students from the Creative Planet School of the Arts harmonized onstage with the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles. Together, they performed 'Peace on Earth' and 'Little Drummer Boy,' dedicating their performance to the families in Newtown and to everyone whose lives have forever been changed by violence. United Solo, the world's largest solo theatre festival, concluded its third annual season with a closing ceremony held on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Theatre ROW on 42nd Street in New York City. Local and international performers, special guests, and festival team members gathered to celebrate the one hundred solo productions that were offered this fall.

The second annual Black Box Festival, held in the Edith Bolte Kutz Theatre, begins today, November 1st with an act that brings an old world charm, filling the stage with lively stories based on the lives of two Irishmen blessed with the gift of gab. A Couple of Blaguards is a two-character comedy, created by the brothers Frank McCourt and Malachy McCourt, best known for their literary works Angela's Ashes and A Monk Swimming. The McCourt brothers tell the tale of their early lives in Ireland and their successful escape to America.

One hundred solo productions will be presented between today, October 11 and November 18, 2012, among them fifteen shows by artists who successfully performed at the United Solo Festival in the past.
