Betty White has released a statement about the death of former Golden Girls co-star Rue McClanahan. White says 'Rue was a close and dear friend. I treasure our relationship. It hurts more than I ever thought it would, if that's even possible.'

Golden Girl and former Broadway star Rue McClanahan, has sadly passed away at 1am today, June 3rd at the age of 76 according to her manager. McClanahan, who suffered a stroke in January, is said to have had another massive stroke early this morning.

After selling out its original run as well as two extensions last summer, THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND with return for another limited run engagement of summer camp. This unauthorized musical parody inspired by the beloved TV sitcom 'The Golden Girls,' features book by Nick Brennan, music by Jeff Thomson, and lyrics by Luke Jones and Cisco Cardenas. Performances will run June 13 - August 1 at The Kraine Theater.

Betty White hysteria is in full-force. Although White poked fun of the Facebook group pushing for her to host Saturday Night Live, the tactic proved successful. Two other Facebook groups have ensued following her May 8th SNL appearance. The first of the two, 'Betty White Must Host 2010 Emmys!' has already hit 700 members. The second Facebook fan page, 'Getting Betty White to Host The Academy Awards' is growing fast with over 11,000 supporters.
