LA Philharmonic to Launch TSFY Concert Series with IMMORTAL BEETHOVEN, Today

Los Angeles, September 29, 2015 -The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association kicks off the 2015/16 Toyota Symphonies for Youth (TSFY) concert series at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Today, October 3, andToday, October 10, at 11 a.m., with two performances of Immortal Beethoven: Ludwig's Legacy -which is part of the LA Phil's Immortal Beethoven festival. The TSFY performances of Immortal Beethoven: Ludwig's Legacy introduce families to Beethoven's beloved works, where they will discover his passionate determination to create, and how his drive continues to inspire musicians across the globe. These concerts will feature the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela and will be preceded by a choice of art workshops, dance, and more.

Third Eye Theatre Ensemble Performs in Concert Tonight

Third Eye Theatre Ensemble, a Chicago company which seeks to engage audiences with inspiring performances relevant to today's ever changing world, will be presenting contemporary [& in English] at Forte Framing & Gallery tonight, September 26th at 8pm. contemporary [& in English] is a night of singing featuring excerpts from Third Eye Theatre Ensemble's fall production, Sumeida's Song, by composer Mohammed Fairouz. Cast members and guest artists perform the music of Mohammed Fairouz, in addition to other contemporary composers, including Ricky Ian Gordon, Gwyneth Walker, William Bolcom, Lori Laitman, Jake Heggie, Dominic Argento, Benjamin Britten, and Alan Hovhaness. A wine reception follows the concert. There is a $10 suggested donation at the door. Forte Framing and Gallery is located at 2301 W. North Ave, Chicago, Il  60647.

Wedow, Abell, Polianichko and Allen Conduct Lyric Opera of Kansas City's 2015-16 Season, Beginning Tonight

Lyric Opera of Kansas City General Director and CEO Deborah Sandler today announced the four conductors for the 2015-2016 season in the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Gary Thor Wedow (pictured, left, Mozart's Don Giovanni), and David Charles Abell (Bizet's Carmen) will be returning to the Lyric Opera. Alexander Polianichko (Dvorak's Rusalka) and Christopher Allen (Donizetti's The Elixir of Love) will be making their Lyric Opera debut.

The performances take place Thursday, October 29, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, October 31 at 8:00 p.m.

Shaw Festival Names Tim Carroll as Next Artistic Director

Andy Pringle, Chair of the Board of Governors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Carroll as the next Artistic Director of the Shaw Festival. As Artistic Director Designate, Carroll will work with current Artistic Director Jackie Maxwell during the 2016 season to familiarize himself with the complex workings of The Shaw and plan his first season. He will officially take the helm of the Shaw Festival on December 1, 2016 at the start of the 2017 season.
