Seattle Theatre Group (STG) announces the following concerts going on sale this week. STG is the 501 (c)(3) non-profit arts organization that operates the historic Paramount and Moore Theatres in Seattle, Washington.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust culminates Black History Month with its regular Showcase Noir: African American Artist and Designer Exhibit and Sale and the special presentation of Grammy-award-winning South African a cappella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Showcase Noir opens at 11am on Sunday, February 28, in the Byham Theater lobby. Ladysmith Black Mambazo performance closes the evening with their 7 p.m. performance in the theater. Cohen & Grigsby is the season sponsor of the 2009-2010 Trust Presents series.

Annette Bening, who plays the famed feminist in playwright Joanna Murray-Smith's comedy The Female of the Species, will be sharing the Geffen Playhouse stage with a diverse group of acclaimed actors: David Arquette (Scream, Never Been Kissed), Tony Award nominee Mireille Enos (Big Love, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf on Broadway), Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie), Julian Sands (A Room with a View, Boxing Helena) and Josh Stamberg (Drop Dead Diva). The production is helmed by Geffen Playhouse Artistic Director Randall Arney and begins in previews on February 2 with an official opening night of Wednesday, February 10, 2010.

If there is one person who thinks his Kennedy Center honor is merited it is Mel Brooks himself. Said the funny-man in a recent interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette of his recognition,'I agree 100 percent...I am a national treasure, I SHOULD be celebrated.
