IAMA Theatre Company Presents SIXTY MILES TO SILVER LAKE, Opening 2/2

IAMA Theatre Company (Becca Wolff, Artistic Director) has announced a limited engagement of Sixty Miles to Silver Lake, written by Dan LeFranc and directed by Wolff, at Hollywood's Lounge Theatre. There will be one lower-priced preview performance on Friday, February 1 at 8pm, and opening night is set for Saturday, February 2 at 8:00. Sixty Miles from Silver Lake will play a limited engagement through March 10 only.

IAMA Theatre Company Announces Upcoming Season

For the L.A.-based IAMA THEATRE COMPANY's first season under the leadership of Artistic Director Becca Wolff and Managing Director Mira Greene, IAMA brings works by young playwrights Dan LeFranc, Louise Munson and Christian Durso to Los Angeles audiences for the first time. World premieres of Durso's SHINER - named to The Tracking Board's YOUNG AND HUNGRY LIST 2012 - and Munson's DO LIKE THE KIDS DO, mark the maturation of two fresh voices in American theater. LeFranc's 60 MILES TO SILVERLAKE, winner of the 2010 New York Times award for Outstanding Play is an overdue homecoming for this SoCal native and his first L.A. production. With this season, IAMA continues its quest to shift the nerve center of young American theatre to L.A.

IAMA THEATRE COMPANY presents IAMAFest 2012 on Friday, May 18, 2012 - Sunday, June 10, 2012 (Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm; Sundays at 3pm) at The Working Stage Theater. IAMAFest is an festival of new one-acts and premieres, featuring both known, established talent and new, emerging voices. The five featured pieces in this years festival are CALL BACK by Neil LaBute (World Premiere); DRUNK by Bekah Brunstetter (West Coast Premiere); A MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR THE LIVING by Charlotte Miller (World Premiere); THE FOUNDATION by Graham Sibley (World Premiere); and STORYTELLING by Stefanie Black (World Premiere). Stars Mike Vogel (THE HELP, CLOVERFIELD, PAN AM) and Emma Greenwell (SHAMELESS) join an ensemble cast of IAMA Theatre Company members and friends.

Theatricum's new play development program, Botanicum Seedlings, continues to inspire growth by reaching out to a mix of emerging and award-winning playwrights for SeedlingsFest, its second festival of new plays. This Festival of (short) Playreadings features two days of plays written on a theme - 'Certified Organic' - expressly for this event, giving Theatricum company members and audiences the opportunity to sample fresh new works that are 100% natural and pesticide-free - and enjoy seasonal gourmet treats and live music as part of the package. SeedlingsFest takes place Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20, at 1 pm. Admission is Free; donations gratefully accepted.

Ars Nova Presents Reading Of 'Good Egg'

Ars Nova presents, as part of the Out Loud series, a FREE reading of: GOOD EGG by Dorothy Fortenberry, directed by Jackson Gay. GOOD EGG Responsible Meg has always taken care of her bipolar younger brother Matt. But when she decides to get pregnant-and have her embryos screened for bipolar disorder-is she taking the idea of 'being responsible' too far? A funny and surprising play about bioethics, siblings, and the limits of unconditional love. Dorothy Fortenberry recently graduated from the Yale School of Drama with an MFA in Playwriting. Yale School of Drama: Good Egg (directed by Snehal Desai), Bibles and Candy (directed by Mike Donahue), After the Flood (directed by Shana Cooper). Yale Cabaret: Bicycling for Ladies (music by Colin Wambsgans, directed by Becca Wolff), We're Celebrities, We're Just Not Famous Yet (directed by Becca Wolff) and the solo piece Paint Show. Her work has been developed at Arena Stage, Perishable Theatre, Studio 42, and The Tank, and produced by Journeyman Productions and Vital Theatre Company.
