ROLEX Career Transition For Dancers 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee was a complete sell out with everyone of the 2,700 seats at City Center filled. Over 800 guests went on the the Hilton for the Anniversary supper, the live luxury auction and dancing with the dancers. The evening raised a cool $ 1.2 Million which will go to CTFD's scholarship programs. Allen Brill, ROLEX USA, CEO & President committed to presenting the annual Jubilee for three more years.

Rolex presented Career Transition For Dancers' 25th ANNIVERSARY SILVER JUBILEE: A STAR-STUDDED RETROSPECTIVE at New York City Center, last night, November 8. The evening highlighted magical moments from past glittering galas. Artists from some of America's greatest dance companies performed: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater; American Ballet Theatre; The Joffrey Ballet; MOMIX; National Dance Institute; and Parsons Dance. Also appearing are Tony Award Winners: Marvin Hamlisch (who wrote a song to premiere at the show), Bebe Neuwirth, Ann Reinking, Chita Rivera, Karen Ziemba with Charlotte d'Amboise, Desmond Richardson and Edward Villella. The entertainment/dance event of the new season had show-stopping Broadway numbers from '42nd Street' and 'Chicago.' The 2010 Rolex Dance Award was presented to Twyla Tharp. The Career Transition For Dancers' Awards for Outstanding Contributions to the World of Dance was presented to the organization's four union founders: Actors' Equity Association, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, American Guild of Musical Artists, Screen Actors Guild; as well as an award each to The Barth Family and to the CTFD President Cynthia G. Fischer. Also at the gala, the Capezio Ballet Makers Dance Foundation presented Trisha Brown with the 59th annual Capezio Dance Award. BroadwayWorld was on hand and brings you photo coverage below.

Roger Rees, a Tony Award winner as Best Actor for The Life And Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby and a Tony nominee for Indiscretions, will assume the role of Gomez in THE ADDAMS FAMILY on Broadway beginning Tuesday, March 22 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street). Rees will reunite with his good friend and longtime professional colleague, two-time Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth, who will continue in the role of Morticia. Nathan Lane's final performance as Gomez in THE ADDAMS FAMILY will be Sunday, March 6.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) announced today that Broadway icon Chita Rivera will be honored with their 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award at the Seventh Season Awards Gala taking place on Sunday, November 14th at The Hudson Theatre (145 W. 44th Street) beginning at 6:00pm. Winner of two Tony® Awards and nominated for an additional seven Tony® Awards, Chita was recently seen on Broadway in The Dancer's Life, which celebrated her career and NINE which co-starred Antonio Banderas.

SHINE! The Horatio Alger Musical with a Book by Richard Seff; Music by Roger Dean Anderson and Lyrics by Lee Goldsmith has been honored with 2010 NYMY Awards For Excellence: EXCELLENCE IN OVERALL DESIGN - Shine! Michael Bottari & Ron Case; OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE - Andy Mientus, Shine!; and Honorable Mention: Peter Flynn, Shine! For Direction. The production was a Critics Pick from BackStage. SHINE! was presented by Other Side Productions (Peter Mercurio, Chuck Blasius - Co-Artistic Directors) as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival at The Theater at St. Clements. Directed by Peter Flynn with choreography Devanand Janki; set and costume design by Michael Bottari & Ronald Case and the lighting design by Jeff Croiter. Greg Anthony served as the music supervisor, arranger, orchestrator; Annbritt duChateau was the music director and the associate musical directors were Danny Percefull and Sue Anschultz. A multi-talented cast of 19 made this one of the largest of the festival productions. The principals were: Andy Mientus (Richard Hunter); Michael Halling (Luke Gerrish); Meggie Cansler (Stacia Jane Hauser); Jimmy Ray Bennett (Gideon Chapin); William Ryall (Silas Snobden); Stanton Nash (Higgins); Philip Chaffin (Allen Carlisle); Tyler Merna (Rob Carlisle); Dan Lawler (Foswell); Evan Jay Newman (Mickey Maguire) and Katherine McGrath (Mrs. Mooney). The Ensemble included: Jason Mills, Cheo Bourne, Todd Horman, Robert Mintz, Rachell Coloff, Jessica Vosk, Joy Hermalyn and Melissa Rain Anderson.
