COSTA MESA, CA – Segerstrom Center for the Arts welcomes the return of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in an exclusive Southern California engagement April 6 – 10, 2016. The program includes eight works never before seen at the Center, four Southern California premieres and new productions of Ailey classics. In addition to the three full repertory programs, on April 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Center and the Company will hold their second free community event – Revelations Celebration – on the Arts Plaza, and on April 6 at 7:30 p.m., Discover Ailey, a special hour-long Ailey mini performance with all seats at just one price. COSTA MESA, CA – Segerstrom Center for the Arts welcomes the return of Les Ballets de Monte- Carlo February 11 – 13, 2016 with another American premiere: Jean-Christophe Maillot's Chorι, featuring music by Danny Elfman and John Cage. Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo appears at the Center under the Presidency of H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover. Russia's Mariinsky Ballet, one of the world's most influential and historically rich dance companies, returns to Segerstrom Center for the Arts September 24 - 27, 2015 opening the Center's 30th Season with Raymonda. Performing with the Mariinsky Orchestra, this will be the company's eighth visit to the Center and the first time this masterpiece from the Golden Age of Russian classical ballet will be performed in Southern California. Pictures today announced that Ryan Gosling's directorial debut film, 'Lost River,' will open April 10 for a theatrical run in New York and Los Angeles and will also be available same day via national digital release in the U.S. This news comes the same day as the announcement of the film's North American premiere being part of the SXSW Film Festival, running March 13 - 21 in Austin Texas. The announcement was made today by Sue Kroll, President of Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, and Dan Fellman, President, Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures. (more...)
