ELEGY to Open 10/31 at Richard Christiansen Theater at Victory Gardens Biograph

The Elegy Project will present the Chicago premiere of Elegy, October 31 - December 1, written by Ron Hirsen and directed by Dennis Zacek at the Richard Christiansen Theater at Victory Gardens Biograph, 2433 Lincoln Ave. Preview performances are Thursday, Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2 at 5 and 8:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. Opening/press night is Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a reception. The performance schedule is Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 5 and 8:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. There is no performance Thursday, Nov. 28 and an added performance Sunday, Dec. 1 at 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $30 for previews, $48 for opening night and $42 for the regular run. FOXFINDER Makes U.S. Premiere Tonight at Artists Rep

With seven premieres on its stages this year, Artists Rep's 2013/14 season reinforces the theatre's longstanding commitment to producing new plays in Portland. With the U.S. premiere of Foxfinder starting tonight, October 29, Artists Rep aims to give this play national recognition and offer West Coast audiences the first look at this up-and-coming playwright.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for The Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program presentation of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, running Nov. 9 - Nov. 17 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Opening night is Nov. 9 at 8:00 p.m.

This Holiday Season, journey to North Carolina circa 1916 as a young man rises to fulfill his destiny to be 'somebody' . Based on Thomas Wolfe's autobiographical novel of the same name, Look Homeward, Angel examines the life of a young man growing up in a small town in the mountains of North Carolina during the early part of the 20th century. Brimming with fascinating and colorful characters, the play is funny, engaging, and ultimately poignant as our hero, Eugene, finds his way through love and loss.

Theater for the New City Extends PLAYING SINATRA Through 10/13

To share an exceptional production with a wider audience, Theater for the New City has extended the American premiere run of 'Playing Sinatra' by England's Bernard Kops by one week; it will now play through October 13. The powerful drama opened September 15 and was originally scheduled to close October 6. In the play, grown up siblings in Streatham, London, resist their lonely future by idolizing ol' Blue Eyes. Norman can't leave their family nest; his sister, Sandra, knows she must try. Her new friend, Philip, is drawn into their trap to escape his painful past. This American premiere is performed by Austin Pendleton, Katharine Cullison and Richard McElvain. Kelly Morgan directs.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, announced today that its upcoming production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, starring Elizabeth Olsen as Juliet and Julian Cihi as Romeo, directed by Tea Alagi?, will now begin previews Saturday, September 28 at 3 pm, one day later than originally scheduled. The shift is due to a scenic element modification that will require additional technical rehearsal later this week. The official press opening remains Wednesday, October 16.
