New Rep to Host 2015 Gala at the Commander's Mansion This May

On Wednesday, May 6, 2015, New Repertory Theatre will hold its annual Gala celebration at the historic Commander's Mansion at the Arsenal on the Charles in Watertown and at the Arsenal Center for the Arts. New Rep's Gala 2015, the culmination of the 30th Anniversary celebration, promises to be a spirited evening of food, drink, and live performances from favorite New Rep artists.

Classic Stage Company presents William Shakespeare's HAMLET, starring acclaimed actor Peter Sarsgaard as Hamlet, and directed by Austin Pendleton. Previews for HAMLET began on March 27 at CSC (136 East 13th Street) for a limited engagement through May 10. The official press opening is tonight, April 15.

New Perspectives Theatre Company and VH Theatrical Development Foundation are delighted to announce a new collaboration on a limited-run production of She Calls Me Firefly by Teresa Lotz, opening tonight, April 15, 2015 and running through May 3, 2015 with a varied performance schedule. The production takes advantage of the New Perspectives Studio storefront at 458 West 37th Street to bring the phrase 'drinks and a show' to a whole new level.

FUNNY...SHEESH has announced the production of Jason S. Grossman's LOVE ME, directed by Rachel Klein. LOVE ME will play a limited engagement at The 4th Street Theatre, (83 East 4th Street, New York, NY). Performances begin Thursday, April30 and continue through Saturday, May16. Following critically-acclaimed runs at London's National Theater and Philadelphia's The Wilma Theater along with recognition in Israel and throughout Europe, The Temple Emanu-El Skirball Center and the Polish Cultural Institute New York present a one-night-only staged reading of Our Class by Tadeusz S?obodzianek. The cast includes Emmy, Oscar and Tony-winner Ellen Burstyn; Obie winner Alvin Epstein; Tony-nominee Boyd Gaines; Mamie Gummer (The Good Wife, Emily Owens, M.D.); Randy Harrison (Queer as Folk); Grant Kretchik; Obie winner Brian Murray; John Pankow (Episodes, Mad About You); Obie winner Austin Pendleton. The staged reading is directed by Cosmin Chivu and includes original music by Jesse Selengut performed by Tatiana Eva-Marie (vocal), Marius Mihalache (cimbalom) and Stefan Zeniuk (clarinet). Previously announced performers, Nina Arianda, Kim Cattrall and Hunter Parrish, are no longer available to participate in the reading.

The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 18 categories for the 30th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00 PM EST, and hosted by Emmy-nominated actors Anna Chlumsky (“Veep,” Broadway's Living on Love) and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (“Modern Family,” this summer's The Tempest). This year's event will once again benefit The Actors Fund.

Tickets go on sale today (Monday, March 30) for playwright Annie Baker's 2014 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, The Flick. The production returns to Off-Broadway in May, directed once again by Sam Gold and featuring Alex Hanna, Louisa Krause, Matthew Maher, and Aaron Clifton Moten, reprising their acclaimed performances.
