Yale Rep (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) opens its 2012-13 season with AMERICAN NIGHT: THE BALLAD OF JUAN JOSÉ, written by Richard Montoya, developed by Culture Clash and Jo Bonney, and directed by Shana Cooper. AMERICAN NIGHT will play September 21-October 13 at the University Theatre (222 York Street). Opening Night is Thursday, September 27.

The Old Globe just began performances for Anna Christie, Eugene O'Neill's masterpiece about the knotty relationship between an old sailor and his estranged daughter. The production is directed by Daniel Goldstein, who is currently represented on Broadway with the hit revival of Godspell. Anna Christie will run through April 15, 2012 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run through March 14. While details on the tour have not yet been announced, the show will play Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre from June 13 - July 22, 2012. The Toronto production is set to open in February of 2012.

Yesterday the horse puppets from 'War Horse' opened Lincoln Center's Illumination Lawn for the summer season. The horse puppets dazzled onlookers on the Lawn, which is a double-twisted green space that forms the roof of one of Lincoln Center's newest buildings.
