The Joyce Theater Foundation, Linda Shelton Executive Director,proudly presents Principals and Soloists from The Royal Danish Ballet. With a program full of works choreographed by the historic 19th-century Danish choreographer August Bournonville, the company will be performing at The Joyce from January 13-18.

Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the appointment of three new members of the artistic staff: Grace Holmes as the new Director of Kansas City Ballet School, Kristi Capps as the new Ballet Master and Anthony Krutzkamp as newly created position of Manager of KCB II. Carney also announced eleven new members of the Company, increasing the Company from 28 to 29 members for the 2014-2015 season. He also announced the appointment of four new KCB II dancers, which stands at six members. Carney also announced the creation of a Trainee Program with five students, two selected from Kansas City Ballet School.

CHICAGO (September 3, 2014) – Ashley Wheater, Artistic Director of The Joffrey Ballet, is pleased to announce the addition of three dancers to the Joffrey's international roster for the 2014-2015 season: Artur Babajanyan (Armenia), Edson Barbosa (Brazil) and Brooke Linford, a former Joffrey Academy of Dance Trainee (Alpine, Utah). The three new dancers officially began rehearsing with the company July 21.

With performances through June 21 in Los Angeles, the two-act story ballet LA SYLPHIDE will be paired with George Balanchine's romantic SERENADE at four of Los Angeles Ballet's home venues: UCLA's Royce Hall, The Alex Theatre in Glendale, Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, and Valley Performing Arts Center in Northridge. Los Angeles Ballet will be touring out of California for the first time, presenting the same production in Seattle, Washington on June 27, 2014, at McCaw Hall at Seattle Center.

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater, announced today the organization's programming for its 2014-2015 fall/winter season, launching September 9 with the New York premiere of Christopher Wheeldon's extravagant production of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, danced by the magnificent dancers of the National Ballet of Canada at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center.

Hilda Morales was born in N.Y. City, and grew up in Puerto Rico. Her early training was with Ana Garcia of the Ballet San Juan. At 14 years of age, Ms. Morales received a Ford Foundation Scholarship to study at George Balanchine's School of American Ballet. She danced as a principal dancer with the Pennsylvania Ballet, soloist with American Ballet Theatre, artist-in-residence with the Colorado Ballet and guest appearances with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Albuquerque Ballet and Jacksonville Ballet. During her dancing career, Ms. Morales performed in full-length classic ballets as well as works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Agnes de Mille, Antony Tudor, John Butler, Alvin Ailey, and Jose Limon. Ms. Morales was featured in the movie The Turning Point, in the role of Sandra, directed by Herbert Ross. She guest teaches and is on the faculty of the Central Pennsylvania summer programs, and joined The Hartt School faculty in 1998.

Following their critically acclaimed world premiere in December the Gelsey Kirkland Ballet returns with an evening of dance at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space (2537 Broadway on the southwest corner of 95th Street and Broadway) Friday, March 7 at 7:30PM and Saturday, March 8 at 7:30PM. This 20-member company, under the artistic direction of Gelsey Kirkland and Michael Chernov present their first mixed program including 'Raymonda Suite,' 'Leaves are Fading' Pas de Deux, 'Ballebille' from Napoli, 'Flames of Paris' Pas de Deux, 'Pas De Quatre' and 'Cavalry Halt.' As part of the shared vision that Ms. Kirkland and Mr. Chernov are attempting to fulfill with the creation of Gelsey Kirkland Ballet, Ms. Kirkland has provided her own personal touch to master works such as The Leaves are Fading, which was created on her at ABT by the renowned British choreographer Antony Tudor. The program also includes the New York premiere of Petipa's Cavalry Halt, a piece rarely viewed by US audiences.

Pace Presents will bring an exciting season of dance this spring to the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at Pace University. Six critically acclaimed dance companies will captivate Schimmel Center audiences with an eclectic range of dance styles and virtuosic performances from some of the world's most talented dancers. Brian Sanders' JUNK (March 6-March 8) Experimental dance-theatre company JUNK, formed by MOMIX alumnus, Brian Sanders makes it's NY is known for their ingenious use of found objects and clever inventions that bridge the gap between dance and physical theatre. Sanders' choreography blends traditional dance theatre with an inventiveness and physicality that gives reason for critics to hail JUNK as 'Philly's most imaginative perpetrator of dare-devilish physical theatre' and declare Sanders as 'the city's most exciting choreographer.'

Pacific Northwest Ballet Artistic Director Peter Boal has announced that after a 17-year career with the Company, principal dancer Kaori Nakamura will retire from performing at the end of PNB's 2013-2014 season. Ms. Nakamura joined PNB as a soloist in 1997 and was promoted to principal in 1998. Following her retirement, Ms. Nakamura will be joining the faculty of PNB School.

This August, The Joyce Theater will present Ballet v6.0, a remarkable festival designed to recognize dancers and choreographers who are creating work outside the traditional large company setting and are forming their own small companies. From August 6 - 17, some of the country's most exciting young dance companies whose works represents a range of ballet styles from neo classical to contemporary, will be presented as part of this festival at The Joyce. They are BalletX, Dominic Walsh Dance Theater, Company C Contemporary Ballet, Whim W'Him, BalletCollective and Jessica Lang Dance. American Ballet Theatre's Studio Company performance on Friday, April 5 at 7:30pm will include full performances of Alexei Ratmansky's Le Carnaval Des Animaux, Paul Taylor's Airs, Raymond Luken's Jerusalem Divertissement and George Balanchine's Tarantella. The show will be part of the second annual "Pace Presents" program, a series of performing and visual arts programs.
