The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, presents the first of three shows in the Winter 2017 Musicals in Mufti Series: the 1961 musical Milk and Honey, with book by Don Appell, and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman. A friendly reminder that performances begin Saturday afternoon, January 28, 2017 for 11-performances only through February 5, 2017 at the York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Ghostlight Records yesterday released the cast album of the new musical comedy RED EYE OF LOVE. The studio cast recording of the show - which is based on an original play by Arnold Weinstein, with music bySam Davis and book and lyrics by Arnold Weinstein and John Wulp - features the Tony Award-winning Broadway star Kelli O'Hara (The King & I, South Pacific), Tony Award winner Brad Oscar (Something Rotten!, The Producers), and Josh Grisetti(Honeymoon in Vegas), in addition to a cast of Broadway favorites. New York City, NY — Celebrating its 15th season, the Ensemble for the Romantic Century (ERC) returns to BAM Fisher for six performances of Anna Akhmatova: The Heart is Not Made of Stone. Written by Eve Wolf and directed by Donald T. Sanders, this multi-media production examines the troubled relationship between artistic creation and totalitarianism through the perspective of the Russian poet Anna Akhmatova (1889-1966). This tale of passion, love, political repression, and redemption is interwoven with music by Russian composers' Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich.

New York City's Ensemble for the Romantic Century (ERC) returns to the Berkshires for the third consecutive summer with the regional premiere of the theatrical concert Van Gogh's Ear. In partnership with the American Institute for Economic Research and the Clark Art Institute, the 10-day, 12-performance series of Van Gogh's Ear complements Clark's art exhibition Van Gogh and Nature and features a special pre-performance discussion August 25th led by the Clark's curator at large, Richard Kendall.
