From today, July 10th-27th, the 9th Annual Capital Fringe Festival will host the world premiere of Jean P. Bordewich's MARRIAGE, LIZARDS, AND LOVE. The performances will take place at Fort Fringe (607 New York Avenue. NW, Washington, DC). The cast features Stephanie LaVardera, Erik Harrison, Karen Kelleher, Mike Silver, and Roxy Reynolds.

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company is bringing back the bird and reuniting the entire cast and creative team of Aaron Posner's Stupid f**king Bird after its runaway success in the summer of 2013. Nominated for eight Helen Hayes Awards and winner for Outstanding Resident Play and Outstanding New Play or Musical, Stupid f**king Bird is directed by Woolly Artistic Director Howard Shalwitz and runs for three weeks: July 28, 2014 through August 17, 2014.

Dorset Theatre Festival continues its tradition of New Play Development with a reading of acclaimed playwright Nicole Burdette's Utterly Changed. The reading, part of DTF's 2014 New Play Reading Series, will star Kathryn Erbe of Law and Order: Criminal Intent and take place on Sunday, July 13 at 7pm.

The Guthrie Theater presents My Fair Lady, the hummable, quotable, utterly enjoyable musical for the whole family. Playing for the first time at the Guthrie, under the direction of Joe Dowling, My Fair Lady will feature Helen Anker as Eliza Doolittle, Tony Sheldon as Colonel Pickering, Donald Corren as Alfred P. Doolittle - all in their Guthrie debuts - and Jeff McCarthy as Professor Henry Higgins. Performances began on the Wurtele Thrust Stage on Saturday, June 28, with an opening slated for tonight, July 4, 2014.

Playwrights Horizons has announced initial casting for its upcoming 2014/2015 Season. The announcement includes casting for the first two shows of the season: initial casting for BOOTYCANDY, the New York premiere of a new play written and directed by Obie Award winner Robert O'Hara (In the Continuum, Antebellum, Insurrection: Holding History); and initial casting for GRAND CONCOURSE, the World Premiere of a new play by playwright and two-time Obie Award-winning actress Heidi Schreck (There Are No More Big Secrets, Creature), directed by Kip Fagan (The Revisionist, Asuncion).

The Nuyorican Poets Cafe's 40th anniversary season continues with the world premiere of Wesley Brown's play Dark Meat on a Funny Mind, which stars Tony nominee Anthony Chisholm as legendary comedian Richard Pryor. In Dark Meat, Pryor and his mischievous alter ego (played by actress Trish McCall) revisit the characters who shaped his life and inspired his career. The result is hilarious, surprising and memorable. A. Dean Irby directs the production, which opens July 31 and runs through August 24.
Car Smashes into Arena Stage, Show Goes On

According to the Washington Post, a car smashed into the Arena Stage in the District Saturday night. The building appears to be fine and without damage; however, it wasn't clear if the people in the car were injured. Luckily, the car didn't hit any pedestrians.
